Thats a pretty sad reflection on the state of things though and surely people shouldn't have to be so cynical. I think you'll find all of the whiners like me love FSX and there's no chance of taking it back, its just very frustrating.I should think ACES have got the message now and if anything is ever going to be done (if it can) it is on the way.Hopefully there will come a day when it will run smoothly in all its glory.. but i wonder how many people will still be interested then.

Now I can agree with that statement smarti. Id much rather help or receive help to maximize what we can get out of FSX rather than see people simply say it won't work now or ever. There seems to be a lot of soothsayers in the forums that somehow seem to know that better hardware/software will NEVER come our way. I'm quite happy with FSX. I don't have monster hardware to run it either. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it as I was able to try both the demo as well as the Beta 2 version. I have no regrets at all with my purchase. I, like many others simply can't rush out and spend a serious amount of money on new hardware just to maximize FSX. I have to use the hardware I have now and squeeze the most out of it. I've read to many posts re: FSX. I've posted links to help folks and have yet to see a simple thank you. Mostly what I've seen are folks that tell me that I can't possibly be satisfied with FSX even after I post my hardware and FSX specs and settings. So yes perhaps I am getting cynical. How can someone possibly tell me I can't be satisfied with the way it runs on MY machine when they haven't sat in front of MY machine and used the program. I think what has happened is that a lot of folks ran out and invested heavily in the newest hardware...esp those that thought the Intel Core Duo was the end all of all processors only to find out it didn't make a whole lot of difference than those who had and older single core processor. I would prefer to be one of the kids sent to the barn for punishment and start digging thru the pile of manure because I thought there was a pony down there somewhere instead of crying. So yes.... I am definitly getting cynical. I'm sure someone will answer this post and still say I can't possibly be happy with FSX. Would I like to see a patch ? Of course I would but in the meantime I am going to tweak the heck out of it and enjoy it. If I offended you please accept my apology. Craig
