Just noticed something funny about that picture that started this thread:Look at the blue baggage cart... you can see the bug I fixed with those edited sim.cfg files. People could have noticed earlier.

Mike, The CS 757 isn't a very good example. Quite frankly it's a dog in FS9 as well esp. in the 2D cockpit. Craig

Completely agree here.Look, FS9 is aged, and my system is not the worst, but I'm far from able to put all sliders to the max even in this "old" sim, let alone use high AA and AF settings.I see the problem similar to what you describe. ACES didn't have the appropriate testbed to prepare for coming hardware, so how could they anticipate future developments in that area years before?Even when the fast hardware will be available one day, it eventually wouldn't make a big difference and the game much faster 'cause the internal mechanisms it uses act like a giant brake on a new system. New hardware wouldn't eventually be respected by the game, making it run on fast hardware even slower than before: 'cause the mechanisms of the days the game was created don't exist anymore, it needs some kind of an emulation layer to create the environment needed to run the game at all, which in turn brings the overall system performance to it's knees. So, I'm more than sceptic whether FSX will be usable for me when I think of PMDG's A320 or such which will certainly cut another good bunch of FPS just because of their complexity.FS9 with enhancements outperforms FSX in almost every aspect, so I wonder how low FPS will drop when such enhancements will be available for FSX which even now runs at almost unbearable framerates: if high res terrain, custom textures, something like Active Sky, a decent Fly Tampa-like airport and something like PMDG's A320 are used, what will the FPS be on a super duper system? 5? 6? Probably way too low to land in bad weather. The saddest thing is that new developments are FSX only - a real pity...Andreas

People really need to explore FSX more they will find their FPS are not always tanked at big airports. Even with living world going on about them plus it has a big WOW factor to it.:)

>that picture you posted is misleading and deceptive conduct,>misleading the consumers as i have yet to see anyone post a>picture like this on their own personal pc with msfx running.http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/Fra...rt_snapshot.jpg- Baggage cart driving away from the AI plane (which is short before being tractored back).- Fuel truck just finished fueling up that plane (received the message that I became number 1 in the waiting cue after being number 2 before).- Small vehicle driving by in the background. Had I turned the camera about 90

Hi BillYes using stock cooling, temps are a little high from my liking though around the 60C mark at full load, just ordered a "Tuniq tower" heatsink and fan that should bring the temperature's down plus at low speed its whisper quiet.Hopefully I can get the CPU to3.3+ with this cooler will post back with the results.John

So Allcott, Why did you buy it? I can't believe you didn't use your crystal ball prior to purchase. Craig

Jedi, Obviously you have either faked that pic or doctored. I got one of those crystal balls that some responders have here and that's what it told me. :) tongue in cheek.

Cheers for that John, will be interested to hear your results.

"we were led to beleive that right out of the box" An you really bought that? I have some really nice swampland in Florida if your interested. Have some great brochures so you see see my development plans.

Just resized from 1280x1024 to 800x640 and put a bit of the lost sharpness back. Here's the original (of course, converted to jpg):http://home.germany.net/100-499937/FSX/200...18-4-32-281.jpgOh wait... you were joking with your comment, weren't you? :)Edit: I don't know how to put links of images in. The forum automatically shows the image, and as the limit is 1024 in width, I wanted to link it instead.

Of course I was joking. Nice to see someone who can enjoy FSX instead of saying it will never work.

Just trying to be superior like the rest of the posters that whine, complain, say that FSX doesn't or won't work. If your dumb enough to believe what's on a box then I guess I am.It also says this: # Windows XP SP2 / Windows VistaProcessor: 1.0 Ghz Guess you believed that too.
