November 14, 200619 yr Hello Gang!Every time I hit the "Y" key to slew around, the aircraft goes all over the place and I lose control of the slewing and end up in Timbuktu. How can I hit "Y' and get the plane to stay put until I command a slew?????Thanks for any help!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert Sincerely, Dennis D. November 15, 200619 yr I have the same issue. Unless you need to see where you are going, you can use the map. Once up you can drag your aircraft anywhere and set altitude and course. Not sure if this is what you need but it does get you there in a hurry.Bob
November 15, 200619 yr Hi Dennis,If the AC lights out for the hills when you engage slew mode it suggests that your joystick isn't neutral - or is too sensitive. Two suggestions:Disable joystick (K key??) before entering slew and use the number pad OR reduce sim rate to 1/4 before going into slew; that will also slow things down. If either gives you the control you need just remember to restore things to normal before resuming a flight.Hope this helps.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
November 15, 200619 yr With me it is a joystick issue. If you have not "flown" yet make sure you cycle all your controls before going into slew - that does it for me. If your not using the controls to slew you can always disable them from the Slew Axis' in the controls menu also.Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
November 15, 200619 yr If you have the registered version of FSUIPC, you can put null zones in the slew axis by using the joystick calibration page. Very useful.......!!! November 15, 200619 yr Go to the Controller Assignments section of FSX. In there you will see your joystick, rudder pedals, etc. I believe on the upper right is a radio button for Normal (?) and Slew. Click on Slew and see if there are axis assigned to the Slew mode. If so, highlight each one and click to delete the joystick Slew axis.I had the same problem as you and it took me forever to figure out why I would slew all over the place as soon as I hit the Y key. Apparently when I installed my yoke, rudder pedals, etc, FSX assigned a Slew axis.Regards,SD
