Can't get GSX to use L2

Recommended Posts

GSX and KORD, both made by FSDT.

Have set L2 as preferred exit (I even removed L1 as an exit), but still the jetway goes to L1... https://imgur.com/a/AzAZwaE

You would think that two programmes made by FSDT would work properly.

Any idea how I can get the jetways to use L2?

Thanks,

B

You removed L1 as an exit--where?  If you edited the exits defined in the aircraft.cfg, GSX doesn't use that AFAIK.  You have to make the change in the aircraft profile using the aircraft editor in GSX, which stores the data in a .ini file within GSX' data structure.

Also, if L1 and L2 are both properly defined and within the reach of the jetway(s), GSX should offer you a choice of which jetway and to which exit.  If L2 isn't offered, it's usually because the jetway can't reach it, either due to extension/retraction and/or swing angle limits.  Using the GSX parking spot editor to move the "stop position" to a location that is reachable within the jetway's limits will solve that.

I removed L1 in the GSX menu.

GSX offers me L1, L2, L3 etc but even selecting L2, it sends the jetway to L1.

The SODE command (Tab-S) works fine and sends the jetway to L2 as instructed. But, if I then ask GSX for boarding, it sends stairs to L1!!! So irritating.

You might try renaming the original L2 to L1...not sure if GSX requires them in strict order.

Your best bet for help is to post in the FSDreamTeam GSX forum.

That's because your airplane configuration has a problem. You don't say which airplane you used, if it's internally supported by GSX or not, if it's a supported one, you don't say if you edited its configuration, and how.

If it's an unsupported one, you don't say if you created a new GSX configuration, or are using it without a profile, which means GSX takes data from Simconnect, and the default doors system doesn't provide for more than one passenger exit, so L2 will never work if the airplane is not using any GSX profile.

You say you removed L1, but what about L2 ? Is the door specified correctly in the proper place and with the correct orientation in the GSX configuration ?

Because, according to your report, that GSX present you with a choice to send the jetway to L2, but this goes to L1 ( which you said you removed it), it seems GSX knows you have an L2, but is placed at the same place which was previously used by L1.
