One uber-PC or 3 medium PCs?

Recommended Posts

I have 3 4K screens that I want to hook up to (eventually) MSFS. Should I get one uber-PC (10900K overclocked 5.1GHz+, 3090), or 3 medium PCs attached to 1 screen each (10700K, 2060 Super)?

AFAIK, there is no software equivalent to WideView yet available for SimZilla.  So I don't know how you'd be able to swing multi-display multi-computer with MSFS.

So I'd say go for Der Übercomputer.

I'm using a specialist 3rd party software to sync. Not great, but it should do the job for now until they offer support in-sim.

For P3D  I think you should stay with a single workhorse computer for the flight sim, with less powerful (and less expensive) ones networked for ancillary apps.  I still use a watercooled 6700k with a watercooled pascal titan, for three 4k screens in nvidia surround, with two networked less powerful reconditioned computers off eBay for apps. The setup works great for P3D and eventually (hopefully) for the new sim.

Nice what FPS are you getting in major scenery?

P3D4.5 with ORBX True Earth Southern California, on medium settings, I get about 20 fps downtown LA, and about 30-35 in the suburbs and rest of the non-urban areas.   When up around FL150 with 50% cloud cover about 35 fps and with no cover 50-65 fps. If you want  my settings and so forth, I can pm you with more details or put them here..

Forgot that I also have a fourth monitor on the same video card in 1080p where I undock  and display the GPS and other stuff.
