I am now back at a stable 5.1 installation without HF1. 

However, if I install the HF1 client I immediately get the DXGI hung errors. Going back to the 5.1 no HF1 client the errors are gone. I can reproduce this with just a vanilla P3D  5.1 installation without any addons, just going back and forth between the two clients.
