No update #7 (world US) - MSFS starts with black screen

Featured Replies

Yesterday I played MSFS till late afternoon (UTC 16:00, Asia BKK 23:00).

Today in the morning I want to start MSFS for the update - All I get is "Black screen with white frame around" and nothing else happens. The taskmanager shoes MSFS running ...

Is it possible that while I was playing yesterday there was an overlay with downloading something in the back because the update was available already?

Any advice appreciated.

Best regards

In addition to the former thread:

- waiting 8-9 minutes - then I get ASOBO-Blackshark- Fuji starting screen

- waiting 4 -5 minutes again - press any key (remember this command we got before the update #6) and then it opens up a small "Blackbox" with nothing in.......

- clicking inside the box or close leads to step two again - endless

My MSFS got hosed too with this last update. I never got any CTD's before ever in hundreds of hours. Now it does every 5 minutes. And there are 0 buildings in all the new photogrammetry areas. Northern California where the new scenery is has no buildings anywhere. Not in the airports and not in the citiy streets. The streets are there but no buildings.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

see your other post, you forgot something and you use mods.

seems to me that a lof of ppl create their own issues again and again.

If you have scenery MODS like Arches National Park, those sceneries can cause this type of issue.  With this new version if you hadn't noticed an issue before maybe the sim is more sensitive now.  As a side note I always flush my 'contents.xml' file with each new patch and/or after a while of adding new scenery.  This was a fix for issues I was having with FSDT's Key West.  Been doing ever since and this seemed to have helped with various scenery issues I ran into over time.  All you have to do is delete the file and it will rebuild itself at the next load up of the sim.

@Dillon  Thanks for your tip and sorry for my late response....

As always before updates, my community folder was empty. And further, I do not have any scenery mods.

I had to deinstall MSFS.
