How do I completely remove any trace of P3Dv5?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I want to completely start fresh with P3Dv5 and all addons I had installed. Can anyone point me to any already posted topics related to this? My goal is to reinstall P3Dv5 as if my computer has never even had it installed ever before (as if I am installing to a completely new hardrive). If a list of all addons I use is needed, let me know.

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response!

I have tried this before, but still came across certain things that are related to the previous state I had P3D running in. For example, FSDT KLAX still had a jetways profile intact that I created prior to uninstalling. My other addons features things like this, do you have any insight on how to remove the "memory" component of P3D without having to wipe the hard drive itself?

Thank you,

In my case removing all of the Prepar3D & add-on related files & directories on "Program Files", "Program Files (x86)", "AppData/Roaming", "AppData/Local", "ProgramData" (which is a hidden directory on the drive where Windows is installed) and "Documents" was enough to remove all traces of P3D. There might still be some leftover registry entries, but I wouldn't bother with removing them.

I'll try out what both of you guys referred to, thank you! I'll report back and let anyone else who is interested know how it went.

Unfortunately add-ons do not all keep their files in locations known to P3D, so they are not part of any "memory" P3D might have. Removing all the folders within P3D's realm will therefore leave many add-on components. So it is probably necessary to uninstall all of the add-ons, one-by-one, using their uninstallers before starting on P3D itself.
