December 11, 20205 yr Hey Folks, During the Covid-19 sales earlier this year i took advantage of a Carenado sale and bought (among others) the "C208B GRAND CARAVAN HD SERIES" Now I've only just gotten around to installing the C208B and although I love it, it has no cockpit immersion sound, i.e. no swtich clicks etc. I raised the point with Carenado support who imply that it should have cockpit immersion sounds (although I'm not able to get a straight answer out of them unfortunately) but my examination of the actual installer and the files it installs leads me to believe otherwise. Does anyone have this aircraft and can confirm it does/does not include cockpit immersion sounds? Note it's not the glass cockpit ES version, rather it's the HD Steam Gauge version. December 11, 20205 yr Author Never the less the installer caters for P3D v4 directly and I see x64 version files. So cockpit sounds? or not? December 11, 20205 yr Search the Avsim library. There is a download that will give you switch sounds. Requires some text file editing but works great. December 11, 20205 yr Author Hey Thanks Yurei, I actually found that some time ago (and amazing little addon it is too, plus a fantastic method of using Doug Dawson's sound gauge to retrospectively add sounds to aircraft) and in anticipation of confirmation from someone who has this aircraft of there being no cockpit sounds in P3D v4 , I've built a custom C208B sound event file adding around another 300+ lines to the xml to cater for the custom cockpit events the aircraft has. So I do now actually have cockpit immersion sounds (from the pilot's side window open and close to the copilot's seat sliding back and forth and all in between). It's more I'm interested in a third party confirmation from someone who has this aircraft because Carenado support staff wanted me to essentually jump though hoops to try and get sounds operational, all the while implying it should have such sounds, yet all the evidence I see pointing to that it cannot. December 12, 20205 yr Well, all I know is that I had to use Daniel Gauthier's cockpit sounds_v2 and Doug Dawson's 64 bit sound files to get cockpit sounds working. Hope that helps. Hope that helps. Don Thanks Don, That confirms the AC doesn't come with cockpit immersive sounds, Carenado must have clueless kids providing support...(unfortunatelly). I've just finished the final additions to my KeyEvent_RAD_SND_C208B.xml, coming in just on 948 lines in length. I'll add a few comments, polish a few of the sound samples (I used a few freeware car sounds) and all will be done. Had to find out what "Perilla" meant (it's Spanish for Knob) so i could add the final custom sound events Now has sounds for for everything including the switch caps, vents, dials, knobs etc. Next will be the GTN750 maybe.
