December 13, 20205 yr A few days ago, I loaded the latest version of Manfred Jahn's excellent freeware C-47 package into P3D v5.1. It's been a while since I've flown this aircraft...forgotten what a sheer joy it is to hand fly (like there's an option!!!). This particular repaint is a work in progress (not yet posted to the library). Sadly, this particular airframe was lost to a crash and post accident fire on August 19, 1995. http://www.explorenorth.com/library/aviation/cgzof-dc3-crash_report-1995.html I still recall the day the accident occurred...I grew up less than a mile from the accident site. In my opinion, the pilots managed the situation very well...the outcome could have been much worse given the population in the vicinity of the airport. In memory of this aircraft and the flight crew, hopefully I'll get this repaint published in the next day or two.
December 13, 20205 yr Great work, looking very nice, so far...!! I had recently run into the Air North livery but with the "Compass" Logo, while looking (I think) in my 737-200 repaints, but never seen this one...love the Klondike EXPLORER logo (I see three explorers with backpacks and pick-axes), could be a bit tricky to paint...🙂...of course, not knowing anything myself about painting..... Thanks for the post...(please update whenever you upload the repaint to the Library)... [Edit: Our posts must have crossed en-route...you beat me to it....thank you...🙂...!] Edited December 13, 20205 yr by P_7878
January 19, 20215 yr It appears you managed to get this excellent plane running in P3D 5.1. When I try, I always get a CTD. I am using the version from November 15, 2019. Is that the latest version? Thanks, Peter

It's been a while since I've installed this aircraft...and I do recall having a similar issue. If I recall correctly, there was a (free) file that had to be downloaded from A2A for the windshield rain effects to work correctly. https://a2asimulations.com/product/a2a-rain-effect-for-p3dv4/ Rob
January 19, 20215 yr Hello Rob, many thanks for your reply. Alas, I still get a CTD, even after installing rain effects. I am considering getting the Aeroplane Heaven version instead, although I can't use your beautiful livery then. Cheers, Peter
