Do I have to use my own voice?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking into a better ATC solution for FS2020 and this seems to be the go to solution, I watched 2 tutorial videos and browsing through topics and FAQ's but I still haven't been able to find a definitive answer to a very simple question.  Do I have to use my own voice to communicate with ATC?  I notice in one of the tut videos that there is a 'say it' available but it's unclear to me if that's limited to reading back already received instructions or can I use say it for everything; eg ask for initial IFR and taxi clearances?

If I have to use my own voice then unfortunately I won't be able to use this program so being able to control totally without the need to speak is essentials.

Can someone please confirm one way or another that if I can't talk, can I still use this?

Thanks

Yes you can fully use P2ATC by just using the 'Say It' feature, all ATC commands can be issued that way (I used this feature exclusively at the beginning too until I got more comfortable using my voice, now I'm doing a mixture of both). But note that you still need to have a microphone set up on your PC, even if you're not using voice at all P2ATC still needs it to properly start up.
