Never flown a Tolis plane and after having heard many good things about it I have to say this certainly hasn't left me with any enthusiasm to pick this one up, one too many rough edges, I'll keep watching some more videos from others nevertheless. When it comes to a330driver I for one appreciate his videos, I think it's pretty word not allowed disresepctful to call him a clown and a muppet, not to mention ungrateful given that people like him create tutorials for flight simmers which I certainly have found to be very useful, this stuff takes a lot of time and effort. But sure let's treat people who contribute to the flight sim community in this manner shall we, that certainly will help grow it. 🤨 As to him deleting comments, can't possibly see that being the case either. I've seen my comments being deleted on various YouTube videos many times and I know for a fact that the content creator did not delete them and I can assure you there was nothing contentious in them at all. YouTube definitely deletes comments for what appear to be arbitrary reasons and the statement that "I haven't seen other creators have this issue", well unless it's your comment how would you?

Absolutely nothing has changed and still no further feedback from the admins either which is very disappointing, I can only conclude that they don't care. More ads than content showing all the time and these constant full page ads are driving me nuts. I guess I'll be visiting avsim when I have a specific question I need answers to, no longer as a frequent casual browse to find out what's going on in the world of flightsim. The official MS forums, hell even FB groups are less obnoxious than the billboard this site has turned into. 💩

I use FF and still seeing ads everywhere, I see ad hear more ads than contents! Ad blockers have their own quirks, end of the day ads should be easy to ignore if done in a balanced manner, something has definitely changed as atm they are impossible to ignore!! 😡

Yeah I was about to put up a post about this and noticed this thread, the number of ads are utterly out of control, right hand side, bottom page, between posts and a full page ad every time you click on a post that you than have to click close on, hell as I'm posting this there is am massive add right above this which is playing audio and everything. It's getting so annoying I don't even feel like visiting avsim anymore. I appreciate that these things generate income but the balance way off now!

The order page also had enhanced features and additional systems, I don't see this being mentioned in the reviews I watched so far so not sure if that's actually what's being used assuming that's even implemented today or is that a future thing?

Historical weather then works for "any" custom weather preset I use, overcast, thunderstorms etc because "actual historical" weather is not something I tend to use though.

I posted this question in the //42 typical weather thread but I guess it got kinda lost there so I might just start its own topic on this as I never really quite understood what happens in these scenarios. I usually just put it to live weather and accept whatever it is but one reason I also don't tend to change the weather is when I fly with ATC, I use batc I'm not sure what would happen if I choose custom weather, whether it's an add-on or within the sim options itself. If this custom weather changes the wind directions/speed etc and subsequently also changes the active runways does an add-on like batc know that I am on custom weather or is that always going to base itself on real life weather Thanks

I guess it's in their OC3, purchased from another pc so haven't checked yet.

I have a broader question about these weather apps/presets in general and how the interact with ATC, not just the built in one but also the likes of batc, does atc base its directions on the weather set in the sim even if it's custom or does that always direct based on live weather ignoring any custom weather add-on or otherwise?

Got all 3 of them in the mean time, enjoying them all but as per usual I probably should have just picked one to start with but I'm sure they'll get all their well deserved air time as I tend to impose a limit on myself of flying GA aircraft in certain parts of the world only as that way you also get the enjoyment of seeing other areas. I'm pretty happy with my purchase, they are all a joy to fly and are not frustratingly difficult, hopefully the 500 will become available outside of the MP at some stage. Not familiar with the fly inside birds, I might just check them out once I feel the need for something new which might be a while coz I'm suffering from a serious case of AAS (Aircraft Acquisition Syndrome).

I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that that rationale is going to cost him dearly as that's a pretty niche target audience, let alone a helicopter in career mode. Going off topic here, I tried career mode once and I thought hmm this might be ok to then find out that you won't be able to use non MP add-on planes, never touched it again and can't see me ever doing so either. As I understand Asobo is enforcing that limit to avoid cheating because I assume there are online leaderboards maybe, they could just opt to limit the career mode to single player only that being the case so the only person you'd be cheating would be yourself. Building a career with the default or MP only planes is way too limiting imo. Anyway I digress.

Looks like the 500C is a marketplace only product, odd and not sure if it's leaving itself without a potential audience because of that, I certainly didn't even know it existed coz I certainly don't check back on MP releases, let alone go there to buy something, I might notice it when booting up the sim and that's it. Also the fact that I can only find one single livery on flightsim.to would also confirm that it's probably flying totally under the radar, make no sense to me but hey what do I know about developing and selling these things. In any case certainly no negative feedback on these Taog birds, the Huey seems a no brainer and between the alouette and lama I may as well flip a coin, both look good. Cheers all

Been contemplating picking up a more in depth but still somewhat retro helicopter for 2024 as it has great scenery to fly low and slow, the Taog ones seem to review and given they're on sale on on flightsim.to atm I might just add one or two to my hangar. It states compatible with 2024 but I'd be keen to hear people's thoughts on these, do you fly them in 2024, any caveats, shortcomings, preferences? Thanks

Hmm, that's another concern, self loading cargo had the same issue and I couldn't read a friggin thing on my 4K monitor and no option increase font size so I simply stopped using it so yes it's a very valid complaint. Seems like this career app could have used some more time in the oven, not writing it off as it's admittedly fresh to the market and no doubt improvements can be made. But for now I'll be keeping an eye on it to see how it progresses going forward in fixing some of its shortcomings first.

Just making sure I'm understanding correctly, the program forces you to use its app time/date rather than sim time so because of that batc would need to use historical weather to match the date on the app which I assume batc is not able to do (never used historical weather admittedly)? I also then wonder about putting the route from the app into simbrief as that would also be based on current time and weather. I'd genuinely be interested but if that's indeed the case I guess that's pretty much game over as far as I'm concerned, simbrief and ATC are a must have imo, kinda hoping I'm wrong here.

I have an LG 42 C3 and being oled it also suffers from the flicker when using G-sync, it's very disappointing and frustrating but it's common on OLED panels combined with G-sync, I did a lot of research at the time for this hoping to find a solution and so far non exist as I believe only a hardware based solution would resolve this so it would be up to the likes of Nvidia and/or panel manufacturers. So not sure if later models resolve this either, I wouldn't count on it. It only happens on dark areas of the screen so depending on the content being viewed it may or may not be noticeable. Fly MSFS in daytime, no issues, nighttime things not lit up will flicker a bit, same in other titles btw, it's not an msfs issue. Turning G-sync off means tearing so you either put up with it or limit you frames another way, in MSFS I hard limited my fps to 90 in the Nvidia app and that has stopped tearing for me without the need for g-sync. That's on a 4090 though so depending on your card and gfx settings your mileage may vary. Most games I can run at pretty decent frame rates and the occasional tear is something I have to live with, the tearing is the lesser of 2 evils compared to the flicker that's for sure so yes I would still stick to my oled. Oled panels are great with contrast and colour and overall I love the look of the picture but not being able to use g-sync coz of this flicker issue is certainly a significant shortcoming that is not getting enough attention clearly.

I'd be more interested in QOL patch for the current planes like the Dukes in 2024 first, I know the planes work but it be nice not having to deal with the janky Variant/Livery selections.

Finally found what was causing this issue, there are some default mappings for the keyboard in 2024 for ailerons and elevators being mapped to the numpad keys, not sure if this was the same in 2020 also, maybe I deleted them but I use those keys for my cameras so of course switching cameras meant manipulating flight surfaces. It still doesn't make sense fully as this did not happen when actually switching cameras using the numpad, it happens while not doing anything at all, just while AP cruising without touching anything but somehow this was interfering just by the mappings existing, I hope that is but so far the problem has not come back.

Thanks for all the responses, I'll check more closely but I don't actually use any mappings in 2024 itself at all actually, everything runs through spad.next and they simply work across both sims, the AP also disconnected mid cruise, I understand the nav intercept relies on somewhat matching heading post takeoff but that's not the issue here. In any case based on the replies here nobody seems to have bugs really with the Fenix so that's good to have confirmed.

Slowly moving across to 2024 now and I never used the Fenix much as I primarily flew pmdg's 737 but not an option on 24 yet so I'm happy to fly the Fenix but I seem to have nothing but weird behaviour going on, first I thought maybe I did something wrong but so far every flight has had issues even though I paid close attention to make sure I got nothing wrong during its setup. I'm flying at cruise now and suddenly for no apparent reason whatsoever the AP disconnects with a red AUTO FLT AP OFF message. Starts to oscillate in VS mode, can still get the open climb going but no longer managed. Nav also no longer works, even HDG mode no longer works, the plan just turns around in circles endlessly not following any type of navigation even though the AP is now enabled again. I'm getting this constant repeating dial tone sound as well. Are these bugs in 2024 or am I still doing something wrong or misunderstanding something, it's certainly possible but I can't figure out what as this just happens without me even at the controls.

One would think with the size of the current potential customer base existing due to the popularity of MSFS that prices would if anything indeed be coming down, you can sell more copies so you could afford to make it cheaper. Not to mention the amount of competition as well, sure maybe not for the exact plane but plenty out there to scratch that nostalgic airliner itch! So that would be a $190.72 AUD for me, no way I could ever justify paying that price regardless of quality and I have negative interest in a subscription model unless indeed as suggested there would be a pro rata model against the subscriptions paid at time of purchase.

No complaints about batc myself, not denying that people have experienced problems but it's been working very well for me so far. The one issue I had which was my own fault btw was solved on their discord within 10 minutes of me providing them with the log file so again when it came to support there I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I tried SI's trial mainly for their entourage option but I couldn't get that working properly myself, maybe that feature wasn't in the trial as I only had options to use ATC. I may be wrong on this front as well but I couldn't see an option in SI to not use a mic, I don't want to use a mic and speak to my pc. I'm using batc with its auto reply and/or manual selections but that's how I prefer to use atc even though I know I'm probably not making the most of it by not using my voice.

I don't have the TM throttles, using the VKB Sim Stecs here but also had some issues finding the right Lvar for the throttles. I use a custom axis configuration mapped to: THROTTLE1_AXIS_SET_EX1 Range definition: NO Rescale Value YES, from -16383 to 16383 Use Axis Value: ON Use raw/rescaled Value: ON Invert: OFF And obviously duplicate for THROTTLE2_Axis Not sure if that would work on the TM but those settings move the throttles for me using spad.next.

Redirects to the same link, I just can't tell the difference with or without it installed myself, I always had to installed in V1 so maybe I'm trying too hard to spot any differences to confirm if it's working or not and getting to the point of analysis paralysis.
