Annoying adverts

Featured Replies

Is it just me, or have some annoying adverts suddenly appeared overnight on this site? A bar that rises from the bottom of the screen, a large advert at the bottom of a forum page, a small window that opens up on the lower right, and also a full page advert now and again when I change pages. I would prefer these adverts to be disabled on my PC, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know if I need to make a donation to sort it out.

The point is that we did not have this problem barely four days ago. What has changed? Why should I need to install an ad blocker when I have never needed one before? The absolute silence regarding th

Loads Christopher. In fact, not just recently, but for some time. It’s so tiring I have often just given up and left the site. While using my IPad, sometimes the ads cover up so much of the page that it’s difficult to read stuff! EDIT: I’m on my IPad as I write and just remembered, Duck to Go! It’s a search engine app that stops annoying pop up ads. I have it on my IPad and it works a treat. Just using it now. Unsure whether it’s available as a desktop app or not. Check it out.

Lots of ads for me to. I don't like it at all.

It just started for me, constant pop ups, videos, full screen ads.  The videos are on autoplay, which is a hard pass for me.  I can't even type this without some video barking at me.

If this is intentional, might I suggest a member donation drive or something?

Thanks for that tip, ads are gone now. I had noticed the ads increasing recently, but wasn't till today there were numerous ones covering pretty much the entire screen, making it nearly impossible to read anything. Was using Chrome on an Android phone. One weird thing is my phone provider recently upgraded me from 500 MB to 1 GB per month. I'm on the cheapest plan. I think it's not so much greater though, just there are so many pop up video ads nowadays that quickly suck up all one's data.

Just install an ad blocker for your browser.

Seeing the same too, since a day or two ago.. both on desktop (Firefox) and mobile (Chrome). Very intrusive compared to before.
