Annoying adverts

Is it just me, or have some annoying adverts suddenly appeared overnight on this site? A bar that rises from the bottom of the screen, a large advert at the bottom of a forum page, a small window that opens up on the lower right, and also a full page advert now and again when I change pages. I would prefer these adverts to be disabled on my PC, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know if I need to make a donation to sort it out.

I'm on an android phone.  The popup ads are making the site almost unreadable.  Never happened until this week

I swear, it was that easy.  I know, where's the challenge, where's the instructions translated from Chinese to English.😏  Click a button and all done.

I do not see any adds here, ever. Nor do I see any at all on Youtube. I use Firefox which is NOT owned by Google. Youtube and Chrome is owned by Google. And Edge owned by Microsoft. Their add blockers are very ineffective, compared to the wonderful Firefox. If I browse on my TV (Xbox, ROKU), then yes there are adds galore. But none on my PC browser.

I'm getting those ads now, too. They just started; it wasn't like this yesterday or even earlier today. It also doesn't matter which browser I use, Chrome or Safari, it's the same on both of them.

So .. an ad blocker extension will work???

Okay, so I just installed the AdBlocker Plus extension to Chrome and Safari ... and it works! At least, so far it works.

Weird. I didn't have these ads on any other website.

I use Firefox all the time, and these adverts are absolutely unacceptable. I would like to know what has changed for these to suddenly appear.

I don't know what has changed on Avsim because I still see no adds at all here. Firefox + AddBlock Plus.

Also, i'm watching  Youtube videos everyday. I never have seen a single add on YT in months. I do see adds on almost all Youtube videos if I am not watching on Firefox, such as with Xbox Edge browser.

Wait a minute. I just opened Microsoft Edge and went to Avsim. No addons, no extensions. But I saw no adds on avsim. So now I"m not sure what is going on.
