GPU & AC Cart setting...

Featured Replies

Bryan,

If I select 'GPU & AC Cart' in the approach brief settings, the AC cart never arrives at the gate. I had been using just GPU for a while and I decided to pick the option for both out of the blue a few flights ago. I've done 3 flights with it set now, and I haven't seen the cart once. The GPU always works. Is there a PMDG option somewhere that I need to change? I looked and didn't find one, but I might have missed a menu page somewhere.

Thanks!

The Air Conditioning cart should connect right after the GPU.

We need to use the FMC menus to control the ground objects.

You can actually watch FS2Crew press buttons on the FMC to set the ground objects.

We're basically doing the same 'button presses' you would do.

So I would try that.... watch the FMC... see what he's pressing.

Failing that, send me a support ticket.

Bryan,

After about 30 flights now, I think I've figured it out. That FO sure hits those buttons really fast, lol. It was really hard to catch what was happening.

When I pull up to the gate and hit the parking brake, both engines are still running. As soon as I flip the brake lever, FO opens up the FMC menu and I can see that he presses the chocks button and the GPU button. All good so far. However, the FMS page then opens up a second time, and no buttons appear to be pressed. I think that this is when FO is trying to call the AC cart. After watching this about 30 times, I realized that the AC Cart opt says "Eng Inhibit" next to it. I'd been so busy watching the buttons, I never read the text. I never see the FO open up the ground services page again, so I'm assuming the 2nd time was for the AC cart.

So... I did some testing and sure enough, you can't call the AC cart until both engines are shutdown. I think the FO needs to wait until they are before calling the cart. Maybe move calling the cart until the end of the FO's shutdown procedure? The engines should be off by then. As it is now, after I hit the parking brake, the FO tries to immediately do both and he can't because I haven't shut the engines down yet. After setting the parking brake I shutdown #2 and wait for the ground power to come online, then I shutdown #1. A second or 2 later, I see the AC cart option change from "Eng Inhibit" in grey to "request" in green. Now, the AC cart can be called, but FO is done trying.

I hope that makes sense.
