December 20, 20205 yr Which type of peripheral connection would perform better as in least impact on Simulator performance? A USB connected peripheral likes Saitek radio or autopilot or a wifi connected peripheral as in a tablet running an app like FSradio panel or IFMS? Anyone have any knowledge? Thanks
December 21, 20205 yr Let me answer your question with a question: are you looking into new hardware or are you having performance issues? December 21, 20205 yr An observation - wifi signals can fail. Unless you break a wire then something hardwired to your pc doesn't have that problem. Wouldn't USB be better anyway as the sim isn't having to "intercept" a wifi signal from another device? From a purely personal view with no experience: It appears that tablets are so easy and convenient (iFMS also appears to be far more than just an AP or radio stack), but an actual panel with tactile mechanical switches and buttons - oh boy! I'd prefer that option if possible. As I said, just an observation. I wish you well in whatever option you decide upon.
