VR startup sequence? help....

Featured Replies

My system specs are in my sig.

For the life of me, I can't get VR to function.  I bring up MSF2020, and then click on VR??  But all I get is an orange display in my G2 HMD, and the desktop shows a split 180 with nothing but a black screen.  Would appreciate any insight/help...

You could start Steam, select SteamVR button on top then after having allocated a key to VR toggle on/off (?)  in MSFS controls, you might be able to start the real tweeking. WMR installed? OpenXR installed?

I replied to your post in another thread, but your problem could be the Steam VR.  The Reverb is a MMR headset and MSFS supports MMR directly so you don't need Steam VR.  Try just launching your Mixed Reality Portal. In your headset, you should see the cliff house. Then start MSFS. load up a flight. then just switch to VR by pressing the CNTRL + Tab button.

Make sure you are running the latest version of Mixed Reality Portal. There was supposed to an update today in Windows 10 updates.

Also, if you don't have your keyboard bindings in MSFS set to default, the VR controls may not work or be configured in your controls setup. This was an issue in the beta, but not sure about the release version, but I suspect it is, as there are some users on here having to setup their VR key bindings.

Hope you get it working

Turn off  HDR in your windows display setting

thank you for the info.  I'll have to setup up some VR control bindings.  When I checked, I had nothing defined for VR controls.  I'll also check to see if my Windows mixed reality portal is current too.  (I'm away from my gaming rig at the moment, but will try later this morning).

I've seen this widely reported (here, reddit, discord) as being the fix for that issue.

was able to get things working.  Thank you all for the help.  It sure looks nice with my G2.  I'm going to tinker with the settings, and see what I might be able to squeeze from my 3090.

thanks again!
