747 FMC Off

Featured Replies

Hello:

Just tried to fly the 747 for the first time and for some reason, the FMC is blank / dark /off. This is sitting on the runway all systems on everything else looking fine. I try to adjust the brightness but nothing happens.

Is this a known problem or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Dave

Spawn at a parking spot - Gate.

Power up the EXT PWR.

FMC should come to life at that point - asking you to POS INIT.

Thanks, but it doesn't. All other screens are fine and on, just not the FMC.

You turn the Battery Switch AND the AUX Power on?

On the Overhead, to the left, about a third of the way up.

I'll check, but no electrical would fire up if I didn't right? And I definitely do have electrical power.

Confirmed. I have done everything you said. Its very strange.

If you've got the Salty Mod installed. Delete it. Restart your PC.

Re-download and put it back in the Community Folder and try again.

Download the latest from here; https://github.com/saltysimulations/salty-747/releases/tag/v0.2.1

I'm at a loss to explain this so someone else will probably do a better job than me. The old Jumbo isn't quite right on many levels but FMC is something we do have - at the very least.

I have to fly the big girl over the Atlantic tomorrow morning but there's enough there to have the requisite confidence to give it a go. A blank FMC would be an automatic; NO. So it's something your end.

Sorry I can't be of more help. I have my own worries to sleep on before reporting to Flight Despatch in the morning!

Remove the FBW mod from the community folder or update to the latest development version.

Thanks, This was the issue. So if I reboot and install the latest Salty Dog, I should be ok to have both the FBW and 747 MODS in the folder?

Answered my own question.... Dev version of FBW, new Salty, and all is well.... Thank you both.
