January 5, 20215 yr Edit: Sorry Dave, I posted this question in the wrong board, was in the Bug Report forum without noticing... I found that when I have a flight plan loaded and want to check the weather for the departure / arrival airport (before connecting to the Sim), I often get outdated ATIS info from several hours earlier, and it refreshes when I connect to MSFS. Is this how it's supposed to work, and if so, would it be possible to not require to first connect? My workflow is to first create a flightplan in LNM, import it into P2A, select the SID / STAR / approach and then export the flight plan (including all waypoints) to a MSFS plan that I can load in the sim. So if I have to have the sim up and running (in MSFS case that means being in the cockpit) before I can get the correct weather in P2A I'd have to load the whole flight in MSFS again (which can take a few minutes). I'm using NOAA weather, so there should be no dependency of being connected to the sim, or is there? Thanks! Dirk Edited January 5, 20215 yr by woodstock327
January 6, 20215 yr Commercial Member When using NOAA, there is no need to connect to get updated weather. That is where the weather is obtained when doing the flight plan disconnected. You might want to check other airports to see if their weather is updated. Being NOAA is in the real world, it would not be unusual for a particular airport to not be reporting its weather data. I'll check on my end to see if I can duplicate the issue. Dave Edited January 6, 20215 yr by Dave-Pilot2ATC
January 6, 20215 yr Commercial Member I just checked by bringing up P2A, selecting an airport in the ICAO Search above the map, and then pressing the Wx button. I got weather that was 10 minutes old from my home airport. A SIM was not even running. Dave

Yeah that's what I kind of expected, thanks for confirming this 23 minutes ago, Dave-Pilot2ATC said: You might want to check other airports to see if their weather is updated. I thought about this when it happened, so I brought up the weather info in LNM for this airport at the same time, and it had the up-to-date info: Maybe it was just a one-time fluke, if it happens again I'll let you know. It's good to know that P2A does not require a sim connection, I wasn't sure about that. Thanks Dave! Dirk
January 9, 20215 yr Author Dave, I ran into the same issue again today. I imported a flight plan into P2A, selected the destination airport (KNYL) and brought up the weather info, and noticed it was 3.5 hours old. I double checked in LNM and it showed the up-to-date ATIS (0.5 hours old), and also looked at a few online weather info resources, which also showed the current info. But - when I restarted P2A and checked that airport again, it now showed the current info as well, so looks like a restart does clear up the issue. Could it maybe have anything to do with me leaving P2A open when putting my computer to sleep over night? I guess I can just start closing P2A and starting it again before a new flight if this eliminates the issue, but maybe you have some other ideas. Thanks! Dirk
January 9, 20215 yr Commercial Member Yes, I suspect leaving it open while your PC sleeps has it still asleep when you wake your PC. It likely would update once the Weather Refresh time passes. If you set your Weather Refresh time down to 1, then you should get a refresh within 1 minute and then you could set it back up to what you normally have. For the next update, I will add a feature that forces a Weather update when you press the Wx button to the right of the map if the weather is old.
