Bruno,

Thanks for your effort in creating the test tool.  I did a test using your tool and the planes either froze or disappeared when it got up over 48 aircraft.

However, I tried a test with Traffic Global with my aircraft at JFK airport and P2A displayed  the maximum allowed by X-Plane of 63, all of them moving as they should.

Based on that and some of the other tests discussed in this thread, I must conclude that this is not a bug in P2A.

Dear Dave

Based on your observation, I decided to start experimenting with Live Traffic and have observed the same issue you described when using Bruno's test tool (haven't tried the test tool as yet). If I set Live Traffic to display more than 45 Aircraft,  the planes disappear in Pilot2ATC, under 45 aircraft everything works fine, also the planes are showing up in the x-plane map.

So there must be some difference in the way WT3, Live Traffic or Bruno's tool affects Pilot2ATC vs Traffic Global.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi Dave,

Sorry for my delay here and thank you so much for the follow-up on this issue.

I have done the test plugin based on the example provided by Laminar on the new way to inject traffic in TCAS, what they call "TCAS Override". So I am expecting that it is following the state of the art rules by Laminar.

Unfortunately I am not an owner of Traffic Global so I cannot check myself. But I would say it is very strange... Maybe they do less recurrent position updates??....

Thanks a lot for you feedback as well fenwick.reid. 😉

Please let me know if you want me to slightly change the plugin implementation to test specific scenarios. I can change altitude, bearing and distance of all planes at your discretion.

Let me know what makes sense. I will do further tests next days, to see if I can catch something else.

Thanks a lot,

/Bruno
