How do I replace these AI Textures?

Featured Replies

I managed to replace the default A320 AI textures  with real airlines.

But not sure where these two aircraft AI Textures are stored. The 747 and the A380? I'd like to replace these textures with real world airliners. Any ideas?

Look at this AIs  at DFW. Its crowded, but almost all of them are these AI aircrafts. Even though i have replaced all the three A320 AI with real world airlines. I still these generic textures.

I need to figure out how I can replace these textures with real world ones. mmmm

Look at the number of AI aircrafts lined up to take off....but all of them have generic textures. WTH! 🙂

Sounds silly, but have you double checked that the "use generic" switch has not somehow reset itself to "on" .

Yes, it has. I turned it to off, just now. I also turned off the Multiplayer generic plane models.

Is that what it is? LOL 🙂

Glen. I turned off generic still it make no difference. all AI traffic uses the default textrues. But 80% of the parked aircraft uses my A320 real world Textures from my COMMUNITY Folder  and the the A787 real world textures from the COMMUNITY. But the moving traffic AI all have the default ASOBO textures.

Yes I have noticed if you download a lot of liveries for an aircraft, the parked version suddenly appear all over the place.  My game had more Grumman Goose parked around the place than were ever actually built, even in the desert several hundred miles from any water, at one point.  Jabiru's also seemed to be taking over the world.

You can edit the livery file and set whether it gets used by the AI but that may only enable it for parked planes, not sure how it works.

I don't mind parked airliners using my real world airline liveries. My curiosity is how to make the AI airliners to use those real world textures. Hmmmm.. 🙂

Is there a plan in the books by MS to replace generic AI with real world ac? I assume licensing issues are delaying the process?
