ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27” G-SYNC Gaming Monitor 165Hz 1440p

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am on a mission to replace my five year old Samsung S27F350 1080P  plugged into a EVGA 1070SC 8GB Card.

Anybody using this monitor ?

ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27” G-SYNC Gaming Monitor 165Hz 1440p.

Would my 1070 Card be adequate to run this one until I find a replacement car???

I am an older guy and seat 3 feet from the screen wearing prescription glasses. I don't have room for anything larger than 27-28" on my desk.

What could I expect from this screen?? Any other monitors you could recommend for me, not easy to find the right screen these days.

I am using MSFS2020 latest release, do not play other games at all just FS.

Thanks.

I would skip it as it is just G-Sync compatible and not fully certified. The variable refresh rate only goes as low as 48hz. Just my opinion, but look for one that has 1-120hz and up, as there are many to pick from. Here's a good place to look if you are looking for G-Sync, which is an awesome way to go.

The Asus 27 monitor you mentioned is a good screen.

If you are only using it for flightsim, the 165Hz will be a waste of money.

The 1440p is a nicer upgrade.

I went from a 24 widescreen to a BENQ 35 1440p curved and it is a big difference in terms of immersion.

But you already noted that you cannot have a bigger screen then, a 32 inch may not be an option for you.

My principle is, when upgrading a monitor, i will go full out as much as i can afford.  There is no point in spending the money if the screen size isn't significant.

I was considering from 24 to 32 to 34, but then i settled with the 35...i once considered the asus 49 but, that one was just too big

Some of the BENQs has some nice models you want to look at.  I had considered ASUS 35" but it was always out of stock or has limited stock back in AUG at my local computer shop.

Thanks all for your replies, as I outlined no space for anything larger than 27" and would like to have a monitor that gives me a better display

from what I have now. I understand that HDR and G-Sync play a big role. However I am not familiar with a 1440 screen vs a 1080p, I guess better resolution.

I will check out the list that  Dave_YVR send me. During the lock down here it is difficult to check out anything and availability is another problem.

Will look at the BENQs lineup.

Thanks
