December 13, 200619 yr New to FSX and want to know if there is a way to save your game at a specific point during a free flight? For example while trying to learn ILS approach procedures I'd like to be able to start over right where/when I enter the glidescope if I crash on the approach, is there a way to do this?TIA,Blaze RE Thomason Jr.
December 13, 200619 yr Welcome newbie.Yes, you can save your game anywhere. You can hit the Alt key and select the save option from the Flights menu, or even better, just hit the semi colon key which will bring up the Save dialogue.Good luck, and clear skies.Mike. Mike Beckwith
December 13, 200619 yr The save option is also a great way to set a default state for Flight Simulator to use when it starts up. For instance I enjoy 'real-time' flight and starting with a cold and dark cockpit so I opened a free flight at my local airport, with the current date and time and my favorite plane, then I shut down the aircraft completely. Next I hit alt, and selected 'Save' and once I'd filled in the description I chose the 'Set as default flight' checkbox. Now whenever Flight Sim starts up, it's setup for my local airport and if I choose to start at a different airport it even sets the time correct at that airport (i.e. when I choose to start in Alaska which is 8 hours behind me, Flight Sim sets it's time back 8 hours to match).A useful feature that and one that took me a while to discover when I first started simming.
