February 26, 20215 yr I may have missed an episode because I do not understand where is the problem. I've flown the 172, the Caravan and the DA62 since the last update (downloaded the update but not the UK+IR region). For each of these flights, I landed squarely in the touchdown zone. No floating 😏. February 26, 20215 yr One way I know something has changed, is because every landing is smooth. I can ace every one! 🙂 So I like the new ground effect, if this is what has changed, but the lift and drag definitely need tweaking back to where they were, or more realistic changes to them. It does feel like the flaps balloon a bit more at deployment, but the drag doesn't match. I can still find it difficult to slow down. Also, just a little throttle and a pull back on the stick on landing, and you can float all the way to the end of the runway at 40 knots in the C152. Hotfix due soon though. I was hoping it would be before the weekend, as that is when I do 90 percent of my flying. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. February 26, 20215 yr Flaps are generating 2x the intended lift. With Flaps 2 you can fly the C208 straight and level at ~27-30 kts. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

If you tend to fly by "feel" rather than the book numbers and jump about planes a lot and generally touch down with a trickle of power anyway you will probably be adjusting for it and just naturally be coming in slower with less flaps and less power and you will not necessarily notice it too much but the difference is there. You will actually be landing slower with less power and taking up more runway. On the other hand if you try and land "by the book" you will end with way to much E over the numbers and float forever. It also depends on the aircraft. With the C152 you can do almost anything to it and get it down so just come in at 50 knots instead of 60-65 knots and land with one stage of flaps and almost no power instead of full flaps 1500 rpm and it will settle nicely albeit needing a bit more runway. With the Mooney you can just land with the spoilers out (not recommended in real life) . The caravan just takes up a lot more runway though flapless landings are ironically harder now. The TBM on the other hand is very tricky you need to go against all instincts and almost push it onto the runway . Edited February 26, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
