I’m having trouble going alongside a water dock and backing up.  I think there is Slew mode but I press ‘Y’ and nothing happens.  Should I see a change on the screen?  Also even if I can get it turned on, I don’t have a number pad on my keyboard so how can I move around?  Any detailed advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

As you have found out, there is no reverse or brakes that will stop you.  Make sure you have the water rudder engaged and S-L-O-W-L-Y approach the dock.

You may want to checkout the Republic Seabee. A lovely, quirky, tadpole looking amphib.... which has a reverse pitch on the prop to make things easier for ground or water handling
