Parking brake release firewalls the throttles

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. Sometimes when I disengage the parking brake, the throttles spike to 100%. It doesn't happen often, maybe once every few sessions. The parking brake is mapped to a button on my HOTAS. The only input on the HOTAS that is assigned to any throttle command is the throttle slider itself. The throttle-to-100% command is not assgined. I'm not yet running FSUIPC so it isn't there either.

This happens on any plane, default or otherwise.  Anyone know how to stop this? Getting a little old suddenly running into terminals. 😉

Oh, BTW, the parking brake button is on the stick side, not the throttle itself, so I'm not even touching the throttle when it happens. And it's a T1600M.

It certainly sounds like a conflict in your switch settings.  Maybe worth wiping all the settings for your HOTAS and starting over.

See if there are any mapping on the Joystick. I have the 16000m setup also, and I think I had an issue with this at one time. It's been so long ago I can't remember to be honest. And once, cause I did not notice it, I moved the throttle on the Joystick by accident when readjusting my controllers, and keep wondering why it would start with takeoff power although my HOTAS was at zero, when I went to start a flight. I know it was my fault, but can't hurt to check 🙂

Good luck, hope you figure it out.

I don't even have throttle % / full throttle mapped to the keyboard. The only throttle-related commands I have mapped to the HOTAS are TO/GA (which shouldn't effect the Cub) and thrust reverse toggle. And both of those are mapped to buttons on the throttle. The throttle mapping boxes for the joystick, where the parking brake switch is, are all blank.
