New computer - any way to transfer settings?

Featured Replies

Just got a new computer today, and now installing MSFS 🥱 and all tools I've been using.

Is there any way to transfer the P2A configuration / settings from my old machine, or do I have to start from scratch?

Thanks!

I might have found an answer in a different thread - it sounded like AppConfig.xml stores all the settings, so can I copy this from the previous install, or would this cause any problems? And, since there are other files in the 'Settings' directory, is there anything else that I can transfer?

Thanks!

Dirk,

Just copy the AppConfig.xml file to the new PC after installing P2A.

If you've made changes to airports, etc. using Taxi Mnt, then after you install P2A on the new PC, copy the P2ABaseData.mdf and P2ABaseData_log.ldf files to the new PC.

Everything else should take care of itself, other than speech training.  There is a way to find and copy the Windows speech training from one PC to another.  You can research that on the web.

Dave

Thanks Dave!

That sounds easy enough, looks like I only need AppConfig.xml then since I haven't changed any airport data. Just to make sure, with the new version the licensing shouldn't be a problem any more, I just have to deactivate / activate again, right?

Everything went great, no problems with the license, and got all my settings exactly as I had before.

Thanks again!
