MSFS and Win10

Similar topics out there about settings not being saved.  One thing I've noticed, is, I can have all my peripherals set up, and as long as I don't shut down my PC, all is good.  It's when I shut down PC and restart, all is lost.  Has to be something in windows. What are some of your opinions out there?

That is strange I have not had this issue yet but I do image my nightly so if this were to happen I will just restore those particular files, at least in theory it should work

Hi

I'm no expert but have had many issues with Win10. Since I recently completely reinstalled fingers crossed it's been pretty stable.

Your problem sounds maybe like a registry issue, as peripherals settings are held in the registry. You could try repairing the registry (or get a repair done).

There was a bug in MSFS where I think after the UK update people lost their controller settings. The only way to repair that was to start from scratch (in my case).

You don't give many details about your issue, i.e. whether its Win10 or MSFS.

Do you have installed some clearing or "optimizing" software, like CCleaner, Advanced system care, Glary utilities or similar?

Found a work around.  Turn on PC at start of day, then take Steam offline.  Start MSFS as usual then shut down program.  Put Steam back online, restart MSFS, and missing profiles reappear.
