Failure to run

Featured Replies

I have just tried to start MSFS, I get passed the initial 'splash screens' as soon as London appears the program stalls with just the little circle spinning around in the bottom right of the screen. Is anyone else experiencing  this?

Try deleting the UserCfg.opt file in LocalCache folder and run sim again or if that doesnt work delete the contents in folder Users........SystemAppData/Wgs restart sim and let the sim update and let all Joystick and System settings redownload.

Thanks, will try

Thanks 40track for the advice. Unfortunately I can find neither 'usercfg.opt' or systemappdata/wgs. I fear a re-install is coming on. I did see advise to try running the program as an administrator, this also made no difference.

Incidentally I am using the boxed/.disc version should that make any difference.

File directory goes Users/[Yourpcname]/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.flightsimulator_8we..../LocalCache and i dont know as im using the store version and dont know if the boxed version would make a difference. Ill get back to you when ive redownloaded the 1.5gig part to see if that directory is right.

Thankyou again 40track. I am delighted to tell you that I am up and running again. I re-booted the computer, I should have tried that first! 🙂

Oh ok great. Also for reference those folders are hidden so you might have to enable hidden folders in control panel (Thats if you dont know).

Always, always, restart PC if you run into any program that has a problem running.
