  1. A fair question. I am a casual flyer and am pleased if I can get off the ground and back down, I suspect there are a lot like me. I have been with 2020 from the start and have been through all the trials and tribulations. Now the sim runs as smooth as silk, no stutters or crashes. As I only fly the FBW a320 I am usually at 38000 feet above clouds, I do not need high ground detail, although most my settings are at ultra. All in all, I am content and a happy bunny. I cannot justify the cost of moving to 2024, until I have to.
  2. I have had to reinstall MSFS 2020. I cannot see the FBW A320 in the aircraft selection page. I have deleted it from the community folder and reinstalled it via the installer. It still does not appear. Thanks for your help in anticipation. <I have just discovered that the community folder has moved to a different location. All is back to normal.>
  3. Please forgive me if you have already tried this. If you have the Nvidia App installed, delete it. This app can cause the type of CD you describe.
  4. I uninstalled it via 'Apps' in Windows settings. I have seen a comment that it works okay with DX12, I cannot verify this as I use DX11 as I only fly the FBW 320. They recommend only using DX11.
  5. I had to uninstall the app because I also suffer from CTD when starting 2020.
  6. I downloaded the latest driver from the Nvidia web site and found it automatically installed the app. Immediately I got the CDT on starting the sim. I uninstalled the App and the sim loaded correctly. There is no problem with the latest driver itself. I am using DX11 recommended for the FBW A320, also I am still on MSFS 2020.
  7. I have just completed a flight in MSFS 2020 with te FBW A320. I had a problem in getting VRAAS to load but once it did all worked okay. As stated above it seems that the self test needs to be disabled (though I am not certain of this}
  8. I am still using 2020, and am finding it working really well. Smooth flights, no stutters. At the moment it meets all my requirements.
  9. I may be repeating what others have said. If you downloaded the latest nvidia app uninstall it. This will cure your problem. Until you do, you can reinstall 2020 as often as you like but the desktop crash will remain.
  10. I experienced exactly the same problem with 2020. Thanks for the tip (I nearly did a full re-install) I removed the app and the sim started first time. I have just had a great flight. I am using the latest driver without problems.
  11. I do not know if this is related. For a couple of months 2020 has been running beautifully. This morning I am getting continual Crash to Desktop. I get passed the 'Checking for Updates' then shortly after I CTD. I updated the nvidia driver yesterday and just in case I rolled back the driver, but I am still crashing. As I have not made any other alterations I am hoping this is a temporary issue and will rectify itself.
  12. I had a small simulator update a couple of weeks ago. I also have the latest Windows 11 update installed. I hope you get this sorted. Prior to these updates I was getting very smooth flights and still am.
  13. I have found MSFS 2020 to be operating at its best yet. No stutters except for one issue; I updated Aerosoft's Frankfurt airport and it is now a stutter fest! All my settings are either at Ultra or high in 4k
  14. Yesterday, Monday16th MSFS 2020 was unusable, continual Bandwidth errors. I gave up and did something more exciting, shopping with the wife!! Today, totally different. I had a perfect flight with the FBW A320. Almost all my settings at ultra in 4K. The snow at LOWI was spectacular. In general things seem to have improved here in the UK ( I'm hoping it is not just me) since the launch of 2024. At the moment I have little incentive to pay out for 2024.
  15. I have found 2020 has so improved here in the UK, and I only fly the FBW 320 I have no intention of purchasing 2024 any time soon. I cannot justify the expense.
  16. I have found that the performance of 2020 has very much improved. I used to get stutters approaching EGLL and EDDB. Now my flights are very smooth. I have increased my LOD to maximum and almost all my settings are at ultra. Basically my system is: I9, RTX4070 super, 32gb memory. My location is England.
  17. I had to keep logging in for the first few times. Now it has remembered my details without me doing anything.
  18. I have found if I place the mouse outside the Simbrief box and click, the box disappears.
  19. In case anybody has missed it, there is an update release for Inibuilds EGLL The VGS Docking system now works. Apologies if this has been posted earlier.
  20. I sympathise. I too cannot get Nool to work. I have scanned, checked the files after consulting the trouble shooting guide. Within MSFS itself Nool is showing in the Content Manager with the word 'Waiting'. I have no idea what that means. When I downloaded the latest installation file for Nool, Windows tried to prevent me as it identified the file as 'suspicious'.
  21. I have only flown in once, but have made a number of taxi moves. All seems good except I cannot get the docking system to work. I note that in the aerosoft files a number of aircraft are noted, the Fenix 320 for example but not the FBW A320 which is what I fly. Perhaps this could be the reason.
  22. As far as I am aware it should be 'plug and play'. This is how I installed it.
  23. I have the Logitech Extreme pro and it works fine with Windows 11.
  24. Just made my first flight using 'ATSU'. Total success. Thank you to all your replies, and those that said 'user error' you were very correct. I seem to remember using this method in FSX and the Aerosoft A320, so it is a tad embarrassing!.
  25. Thanks, sigh of relief .....
