February 1, 20251 yr Seems to initially load into the world map. But when I select an aircraft and a place to start a flight, it loads to approximately 75% then hangs forever 🤥 So I press CTL-ALT-DELETE and a small window pops up: SimConnect Failed to CallDispatch. Anyone know how to rectify this situation?

February 1, 20251 yr I do not know if this is related. For a couple of months 2020 has been running beautifully. This morning I am getting continual Crash to Desktop. I get passed the 'Checking for Updates' then shortly after I CTD. I updated the nvidia driver yesterday and just in case I rolled back the driver, but I am still crashing. As I have not made any other alterations I am hoping this is a temporary issue and will rectify itself.
February 1, 20251 yr Does this happen at all airports you try loading into, including default ones? If so, might just be worth you checking your hosts file just in case. How to: Assuming your Windows in on drive C: --Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Open the file named 'hosts' in that directory with Notepad. There will probably be a bunch of text all starting with a hash sign at the top. If there are any other entries i.e. URLs below that you can probably delete them and resave the file. As I said earlier this will especially be worth doing if you use the Map Enhancement Tool. If you don't, it might still be worth a check, as the sim hanging at 75-80% on loading into an airport often happens because of that. Otherwise it may just be a dodgy add-on, so try re-loading with an empty Community folder. Or. if that didn't work try emptying the Official folder (i.e. backing up and renaming it) - if you are confident and know how to find these Sim folders on your PC that is. Good luck anyway - I feel your pain...
February 1, 20251 yr Author Thanks to all that replied. Greatly appreciated. Even with nothing in the Community folder, if just hangs around 60% of the load. CTL-ALT-DEL again. (If I had hair, it would be pulled out by now). So I will bite the bullet and do a complete reinstall of 2020. If anyone has a list of procedures to reinstall in Steam, it would be welcome.

February 2, 20251 yr You could give this a try, it fixed my dad's computer that was crashing everytime he tried to start MSFS 2020. His system would just get about 60% thru the loading screen and dump straight to the desktop with no warning. Good luck MSFS 2020 CTD During loading, event viewer says "190_E658703.dll_unloaded" : r/MicrosoftFlightSim Â

February 5, 20251 yr Having the same problem. I have both FS2020 and 2024; 20204 crashes about 15 seconds into load and 2020 crashes at the " New Activities Screen" This has been going on since Jan 30. Working one day and not the next. Nothing added to either sim. Tried to follow all the fixes on Zendesk to no avail. I have degrees in Physics and Chemistry but it takes a software engineer to follow this stuff. I'm at a loss as to what most of you are talking about.....greek to me. Hopefully someone will come up with a patch. This is not the kind of technical expertise that should be required to maintain a game.
February 7, 20251 yr Hello I am having the same issue which just started on both MSFS 2020 /2024. MSFS 2020 has been way more stable then 2024. and has been running smooth with no issues until recently. I was suspecting the latest update of MSFS Map Enhancement 8.1.1.0 triggered the issue but I have since uninstalled MSFS2020 & map enhancement and I get the same crash during boot up. Last Change on system : Map Enhancement update 8.1.1.0 Steps completed thus far: -Deleted MSFS2020 community folder -Reinstalled Nvidia drivers -Run MSFS safemode still crashes during bootu -Reinstall MSFS2020 -no change in behavior PC Specs: Device name    Ryzen7800x3D Processor    AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor     4.20 GHz Installed RAM    32.0 GB (31.2 GB usable) System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edition    Windows 10 Home Version    22H2 Installed on    ‎6/‎19/‎2024 OS build    19045.5440 Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19061.1000.0 ######################################################## Error Log Observations:(RUN->Eventviewer->Windows logs->Application logs) Error observed: Log Name:      Application Source:        Application Error Date:          2/7/2025 9:09:35 AM Event ID:      1000 Task Category: (100) Level:         Error Keywords:      Classic User:          N/A Computer:      Ryzen7800x3D Description: Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 1.38.2.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Faulting module name: 190_E658703.dll_unloaded, version: 2.7.10.0, time stamp: 0x67940d50 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000002ccc0 Faulting process id: 0x7b18 Faulting application start time: 0x01db78f9fec0b7cc Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.38.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe Â
