  1. And you are not alone... 🙂 Many simmers fall victim to that haha Which is also the same reason I've accidentally blown up several engines on the FSR500 haha
  2. Sadly, I’m not that surprised by this. I always felt like SI, Brian specifically, was a fairly arrogant salesperson who would basically attempt to gaslight you into believing that what we were experiencing was actually a normal occurrence in real-life ATC environments. I was a subscriber for a month a while ago and would seek support on Discord during my flights in an attempt to provide feedback and aid in the development of the product, I was hoping it was going to turn into a great ATC product. On multiple occasions he would look at my flight log during the flight and then come back 1 minute later and say ‘that’s fixed now, you won’t see that again’. The point at which I gave up was when I was on a STAR into KFRG from the Boston area only to get vectored off the STAR a full 50 miles to the west, nowhere close to where I was going and certainly not something a real life controller would do, Brian tried to reason with me that this was a possible scenario IRL. It's kind of unfortunate in my opinion - I thought SI was on a good trajectory in the beginning and I saw it do some good things in VFR, like not allowing me to land at an airport that had closed while enroute, which I verified to be true IRL, that was nice. Hopefully they'll get it figured out, it seems like if they can get the focus back to creating a good, accurate, functional ATC experience and controlling the price they could be successful. It sure feels like the trajectory has changed since the beginning. Maybe one day I'll come back if they get it working well.....oh wait, I deleted my account so now I'm blocked....lol
  3. Agreed - FSHUD was the only ATC I've experienced so far that did really good at simultaneous approaches too. Was flying into LAX a while back and having another A320 going to the south runways was very immersive, especially being able to hear them on the radio as well. Can FSHUD be started mid-flight and provide ATC for the remainder of the flight? I haven't tried that yet.
  4. You were right - i got awesome support on Discord from X-Codr. After install the scenery defaulted to disabled under "Community Content" in content manager. There were three different KDEN scenery versions - 1) Gaya sim, 2) Asobo and 3) The X-Codr version (listed under community content). Once I enabled the version under community content it came up no problem
  5. I purchased the X-Codr KDEN scenery for MSFS24 via Orbx and after installing it to the Community folder the scenery doesn't show up in sim when I spawn at KDEN. I've disabled the Gaya and Asobo scenery that comes with 2024 but I just can't figure out why the new scenery won't show up. Any ideas?
  6. Officially my favorite quote on Avsim😂 I also learned to fly on old school steam gauges and VOR and NDB approaches so I’m with you!
  7. I think for MSFS the Radeon GPU's aren't generally as good but maybe things have changed. This Microcenter Power Spec computer looks pretty nice that comes with a RTX5080 16GB card and 64GB of RAM https://www.microcenter.com/product/689589/powerspec-g911-gaming-pc I got a good deal last year at Costco for a Intel i9 14700 with a RTX 4080 Super with 64GB ram that i've been really happy with as well. I didn't see it on their website
  8. I also had a similar experience with an Air Canada A340 crew flying from Toronto to Vancouver years ago. I had read that they would allow cockpit tours in flight so I asked the flight attendant about it, she phoned the captain and he said no problem, come on up. Once I got up there I mentioned that I was a private pilot, hoping this would get me some additional time up front haha. So, the captain prints out a METAR and asks me to decipher it, I'm assuming as a test of me being a pilot. I read it aloud to the crew and apparently he was satisfied with my reading and proceeds to tell me to lower the jumpseat, and hands me a headset. I got to sit there for the final 40 minutes of the flight and witness the most beautiful approach into YVR, ending with and ILS approach into the typical YVR weather. When we got to the gate, I couldn't believe what I had just experienced and it also has made me an A340 fan, in addition to an Air Canada fan. And to top it all off I was able to have the same experience a second time in a B763 on the return leg to YYZ a week later.
  9. I think the fuel pump and ignition switches on overhead panel need to be in manual instead of Auto. I’m not sure if it is just the ignition switch only, can’t remember off the top of my head. Kevin
  10. The last thing I need is another light twin but I'm sure I'll be reaching for my wallet tomorrow.....🤣
  11. Thanks for the help Jonathan - after I restarted the installer app it appeared that it uninstalled the aircraft. After that I was able to install the 320 package first, then the 319/321 package after that. All seems to be good now and I'm flying over to PHX now. Really nice update for the Fenix 319/320/321 package, looking forward to getting some more hours logged!
  12. Thanks Jonathan - I'm not using the addon linker at all so not sure what is going on. After uninstalling 2020 (months ago) I did manually recreate the community folder for 2020 due to the Orbx issue not showing your 2020 purchases if the community folder no longer existed. I suspected that may be causing an issue so I deleted my 'fake' 2020 community folder and still no joy. My installer is updated to 1.0.237 and the update size for the 320 and A319/321 is showing at 2.36 GB on both buttons. Edit - i just also clicked the delete button, thinking that I'll just reinstall the whole package, and the button just goes to "Scanning....checking for new versions" and hangs there.
  13. In the Fenix installer when I click the update button it appears to start a download but then the update button goes back to the original state it was in when i started the installer app, does anyone know what is going on? It doesn't appear to be downloading the update
  14. I couldn't resist picking this up just now and did a quick flight from FRG to BOS, I'm using FS2024. This plane flies great, everything with autopilot worked great, including VNAV and autothrottle. The table interface is really nice and you can move it around to a bunch of different positions, there are little click spot reminders areas on the tablet so you now right where to click to rotate, translate, reset or stow the tablet. It's also a really nice touch that there are click spots under the glareshield for CDI, ALT and HDG bugs on the autopilot so you don't have to look down to the center pedestal when you want to change those bugs. Overall, in my opinion of course, this plane is an excellent value at $30 (er, I mean Simverse coins lol)
  15. The COWS DA42 is a great G1000 based twin engine that I feel like would be good as a second step given that it sounds like you may already be familiar with the G1000 avionics package. I find the default forward visibility excellent in the DA42 as well
  16. Nice article by Mac McClellan, I loved reading his stories in Flying back in the day. Seems possible Nick is going to make a better profit on the Starship than Beech did 🙂 Nice job Nick, this one looks like another great BS aircraft
  17. I just flew this last night in 2024 and it's a fun plane but the mixture control was not working properly which I think is a known issue. Everytime I would try to reduce mixture with mouse wheel it would go back to full rich. If I clicked and drag and let go the mixture seemed to stay in place.
  18. This has been my experience as well, basically zero issues and I’m enjoying 2024 quite a bit using a wide variety of aircraft. It’s really unfortunate for those having issues with this, hopefully MSOBO can get everything straightened out so we can all enjoy it.
  19. Did they fix the airplane lights not showing up if you zoom out too far?
  20. Yeah B I’ve been getting this too. I’ve only done four flights, one being a quick turn in KTUS but I’ve definitely seen this. My VNAV also worked as expected Kevin
  21. Thanks B that was it, I was half asleep last night trying this haha and missed the simple one of entering the ID.... Happy flying!
  22. Thanks Jase, I tried that option on the EFB and it gave me an error. I can’t remember the exact error message right now but I’ll try again later today and see if it works. Kevin
