Hi , I'm new (but i'm also an "old fart\grumpy middle-aged man" ) .... I don't write much, but I follow a lot , I've read around  "avoid that place like there’s a red X on the front door!\toxicity blablabla" , but I'm not very receptive to this kind of advice  and  I enjoyed all the useful information I read here before signing up. I am not new to flight simulators (from flight simulator 2.0 to fs'98 and fsX  until I got to prepar3dv4\5  and a little bit of x-plane11 without many addons) and i also have little real flight experiences, but nothing worth mentioning. I hope to be strongly criticized if I write nonsense and take this as an opportunity to improve my shortcomings  in this  virtual flying, hobby.  I particularly love everything about airliners, but I'm pretty bad at flying them 😅 , I am also quite poor in trying to write in english but I hope that everything is understandable anyway.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

To be honest, there are indeed one or two people on Avsim this description could indeed apply to; not that I like the word 'toxic' for describe that phenomenon anyway; it always sounds to me like the kind of word a ten year-old with a limited vocabulary would use. The truth is, you'll find the odd annoying character in any group of people; if anyone doesn't think that's true, just get on a bus. 🤣

So there's no reason why Avsim would be immune to this principle. Fortunately, there are far many more nice people on Avsim who are knowledgeable and friendly, and you sound like the kind of person who is smart enough to work out that it's entirely possible to just ignore anyone which is not worth paying attention to - as you would if you were on that proverbial bus.

So join in the fun with the far larger numbers of worthwhile people there are who frequent this place. Welcome to Avsim. 🙂
