Need help with a CTD nvwgf2umx.dll

Featured Replies

When loading the Golden Age Simulations "Brunner Winkle Bird", I get a CTD of P3D5.1 with HF1. The preview of the plane works. I also tried to reinstall the plane, Virus detection off. No change.

Golden Age Simulations tried it too in P3D5.1 and it works on their system.

I had a look into eventviewer, where DDE.dll is mentioned as the cause. The dll is from Aerosoft, Dynamic Display Engine. This never crashed before. I have lots of other planes from GAS, which work all fine.

Disabling this .dll makes Geneva Professional unusable, severe stutters occur. So that´s not an option. But while DDE.dll is disabled, the BW Bird made the sim crash because of nvwgf2umx.dll

Does someone have an idea, what is causing this crash? My system is very stable otherwise. No problems at the moment. I use NVidia driver 461.91.

I´m aware, the plane was made before P3D5 and I just want to solve the mystery, why this does not work on my end. Any hint is appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Try reverting to a previous version of Nvidia driver. That fixed the issue for my set up.

It is not the driver issue of 465.89, which leads to an immediate CTD for all of us. I already use the former driver 461.91. It is an aircraft problem.

i would still do a DDU complete removal of your graphics drivers and put 461.91 back.  that error code is linked to driver issues

thanks, but I already did a DDU removal and installed 461.91. Never had a problem with any other aircraft. I could try once again.

While it may work on some computers I'm guessing it is just not fully compatible with V5.  Or atleast some system/software configs of V5.  But that's just my theory.

I have a long time experience with older aircraft on my system. I tried some, which I gave up the first second, when they crashed the sim. This one is compatible, since the model works and all other files, like aircraft and panel.cfg, .air file do not show a problem, at least I can´t see it. They are not different compared to any called compatible plane.

I did another DDU and installed an even older driver 461.72 (not really old 😉 ) but the same. I still hope someone can really read something out of the error and adress codes, give me a hint of which files causes that. Just checked the textures and did not find a problem there.

I fixed it. There were different errors in the aircraft.cfg, double [General] sections and double atc_type and atc_model entries.

I think the relevant one was this

atc_type=Brunner Winkle
atc_model=1929 Bird Model A

I think four words is too much, max is two for atc_type and only one for atc_model, which has to be a 3 to 4 letter code. Therefore the stack overflow.

Since the Brunner Winkle is not a defined type, it doesn´t matter and I set the value empty.

The only thing not working is the radio, where I can´t switch on/off. The same radio works on other planes. Another mistery to solve.

Already solved, missing radio section.
