April 10, 20215 yr For example on a test flight from EGCC to EGBB I am given MAPLE as a transition, what I want is BHX1. Updated it in the "Planner", but couldn't get it to change via voice. If I requested ILS for RW33 it would just specify Maple again. Requesting BHX1 directly was too much of a stretch for voice recognition!... April 10, 20215 yr Commercial Member ATC does not recognize requests for transitions. If you want a specific transition, it's best to have it in the flight plan when you first file and you'll get it for the approach, unless ATC decides to give vectors instead. One way to change the transition in flight, assuming you are far enough out to be before any part of the transition, would be to change it in the planner, disconnect, connect and then make an initial call to Center. This should allow you to continue as if you had put it in the plan to begin with. Dave
April 10, 20215 yr Author Thanks for the response, was hoping there was an option to "activate" changes in the planner (not realistic but ....). Once you have been assigned an approach / transition - can you go to vectors instead? (Out at work at moment so can't check!) G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
April 10, 20215 yr Commercial Member Yes, you can request vectors to an approach any time. That's the best way to change runways while in flight also. Dave
April 10, 20215 yr Author Thanks, will give that a go!... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
