I'm sure the 30xxs are much better, but having never had a "high end" GPU prior to that I figured it was about time. I think the "best" one I had before that was a GTX1660 superclocked 6GB. For now, I'm happy.

Same. I cringed hard doing the same. Also in retrospect. The longer this GPU drought goes on the more I'm ok with the money I spent. The card holds its own at 4k still

Lol ... I don't know yet ... it'll for sure be higher than it was before. Although .. it's not an i9 with a 3090 that can draw almost a kW.

I'm actually positively surprised how well the i7 and 3070 handles 4k. I'm satisfied with high settings ... in my eyes the difference between high and ultra is often minimal at a relatively high 'cost".
