Still can't get VNAV descent on the Salty 747.

I am at cruise altitude FL310, LNAV and VNAV selected, ALT set at 3000, nothing is happening as I am approaching the airport.

Should I press anything to engage VNAV descent? Should I see a TOD on the flight path?

As i know they ( Salty ) still working on VNAV not all is working like it should, but you can heat over to there discord and ask your question there ( or your bugs you find , so if they know they can work on it ).

I doeing it this way : Planning my flight with LNM and save this flightplan over to MSFS.

My LNM is still open on my second screen as i am flying.

LNM shows you a relative TOD and if i reach there i set my altitude on the mcp to around 3000feet.

So normaly you get from your ATC different altitudes to sink there

or you ask for it, that is what i do coming along to my TOD.

So lets say i am goeing from 39000feet to 25000feet i go to the CDU and there go to the Nav page and set my alt to 250 ( 25000 feet) the plane than asap sinks to that alt and so on.

Don't forget to set your last alt ( 3000 feet) also there at the end because i am not shure it holds there if only set in the mcp.

Normaly it should but i don't know if it realy work like it should, as sayd they still work on that.

cheers 😉

Dont think VNAV is working at all, nor for a longtime still. The default aircraft have a difficult time getting VNAV to work properly.  Use a managed manual descent yourself.  Just select a V/S to get down.   Keeps you on your toes because you will have to watch the speed, but makes things more interesting then just pressing one button. The banana arc should help with the profile.

I am doing that with the longitude and I agree, it works quite well

Just started to use the vertical path on LNM a couple of days ago. I will give it a shot

Thanks guys for you help 😉

Thank you for all the great work on this mod!

Since you are now modifying cameras.cfg I'd like to suggest a camera location standing behind the center jumpseat:

InitialXyz = 0.61, 1.0, 3.5
InitialPbh = 0, 0, 0

Not only is this a nice perspective but it is outside the "sandbox" so you can then explore the rest of the interior of the airplane (which has a few areas modeled) and even exterior while flying.

I changed the close view (IFR) to this position on my system since I never used the original close view and I couldn't figure out how to add a new view.

I found something for "Direct to" so should be work, look here: progress (discord.com)

Scroll down to the last, there is a small vid called  working directs.

You have/should to log in there to see it..

cheers 😉
