May 3, 20215 yr Loving the speed and butter smooth VR experience but CTD's are more than annoying! Running AMD's latest drivers (21.4.1). Was wondering if others are having CTD issues or if there's a more stable driver version (previous) available? May 3, 20215 yr I have the XFX 6900XT and was experiencing some CTDs randomly, but fixed it by first auto undervolting the card in the AMD software and later on manually tuning the card somewhat, and it is now 100% stable; Edited May 3, 20215 yr by Bionor Ryzen 7 9800X3D || MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB || G.Skill TridentZ 32GB@6000CL32 || Asus ROG Strix B650E Kingston Fury 4TB M.2 NVMe || Phanteks Glacier One 360 T30 v2 || Phanteks NV5 || BeQuiet Straight Power 1200W LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One
May 3, 20215 yr Author I am still testing to narrow this down. The one thing i have noted is a couple of crashes that happened after being cleared to land. Two different airports so i'm testing that again to see if i can repeat it. The good news, based on your use, is that the card seems stable in MSFS so i need to keep at it to solve whatever is causing the issue. Bill Moore

Following a guide or two I ended up with settings that never worked quite right.. Got a great TimeSpy score out the gate with these. What was your method of dialing it in?

No "scientific" method really, I just used the Automatic --> Undervolt GPU to figure out a safe undervolt and just went with that. As for the Max and min freq, I used the same method for Max, had the min at the same lvl, but that caused som CTDs, so dialed it down by the hundreds till the CTDs stopped:-) Using memory timing at 2100+ is considered safe, but it caused some CTDs as well, so dialed it down a bit and it settled at around 2075. Power limit is set and forget at max. XFX is a fairly good AIB, so your results may vary depending on brand. For me these settings has been super solid for the last 2 months. The undervolt is the magic behind the great Timespy scores and FPS boosts ingame:-) Edited May 21, 20215 yr by Bionor Ryzen 7 9800X3D || MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB || G.Skill TridentZ 32GB@6000CL32 || Asus ROG Strix B650E Kingston Fury 4TB M.2 NVMe || Phanteks Glacier One 360 T30 v2 || Phanteks NV5 || BeQuiet Straight Power 1200W LG C4 42'' 4k@144hz || Oculus Quest 3 || Turtle Beach Velocity One
