I would say this aircraft is the ONLY payware aircraft available right now that is worth buying for the sim. Not just ga, but in general, its the only payware that is complete and behaves like the real thing systems and performance wise, aside from the engine start (but its close). Agreed. The engine start annoys me... but I think its a sim limitation. It needs to take a bit longer when you introduce the mixture, and maybe cough once or twice. Now, I just start it mixture rich.

My impression is that it is more a "remote device accessing the sim" limitation. Past attempts to implement an engine start which required you to crank the starter for a while before the engine fired worked fine holding the starter on with a mouse but were very problematic if you tried to use an external device like a Saitek Switch Panel to operate the starter. I will have to try the mouse. I have a Honeycomb setup.

If they have universally implemented a fast engine start to be compatible with external devices, the start will probably be no different which ever way you start the engine. Mouse or Honeycomb they both will likely start the same. The issue in the past when developers tried to implement a slow realistic cranking sequence on things like Rob Young's turbo Normalised Bonanza ( and the P149 ? ) was they started fine using a mouse but external devices like the Honeycomb could not start the engine at all as the cranking time was too quick for the engine to fire. That said I am people will find a way around it . Edited May 7, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
