CTD during Preflight Flow

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm experiencing more and more CTD when the PM is doing his Preflight flow, just after he tested the fire alarm and I assume goes through the ECAM pages (I start this 35min prior ETD). It definitely happens before he calls the ground. I had two consecutive CTDs today in KDEN, Gate A46, with the A320SL so I thought I could reproduce the issue. On the third try it finally worked however, but I don't know what happens. In the event viewer, the panels.dll is listed as involved module. Also, a .NET runtime error is shown:

Application: Prepar3D.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: exception code c0000005, exception address 00007FFC6F088A2B

Do you maybe have an idea how to fix this? So far, I've experienced those crashes only when I was CM2 (right seat) and the PM is on the left seat and does his thing.

Thanks!

Best regards

Martin

FS2Crew for the FSLabs doesn't use .Net.

It's a C++ program, not a .Net app.

Try it at a different airport.  It could be a scenery issue.

Cheers,

I did. Unfortunately it also happened in KSAN (ORBX).

Again, we're not using C# .Net.

Please try it at a default airport.  I like to use RKPC as a test airport since it's usually away from any 3rd party scenery.

Does FSLabs use C#? I do believe it has something to do with the interaction between FS2Crew and the Airbus.

I will give it a try...

Thanks, let me know what happens at RKPC.

I'm pretty sure FSLabs is done in C++ as well.

I tried it now in RKPC and there it seemed to work.

Hello all,

I have the exact issue also. But it also happens on standard P3D airports. The CTD always occurs before or during the CM2 is asking for the chocks.
I only have this error during the preflight procedure. I noticed it came up, after I configured the mouse macros. Before that, I never saw that error.
I tried the repair tool already. Didn't help. Any other suggestions?

Pls send me a support ticket.

But try it at RKPC and remove your 3rd party addons one at a time to isolate.

Cheers,

Yes this CTD happens also for me, exactly around the mark you guys described. (Engine fire test or chocks, always in the preflight)

One workaround might be not to trigger the preflight flow and directly ask for the "before start" checklist, skipping the process. This is what I tried last flight.

Has anyone found a workaround since?

Thanks for all your help Brian! Still a fantastic product by all means.

Also if this is any help, the error I get is PANELS.DLL. Thing about this CTD is that it only happens 1 in 5 flights so there must be some variable, perhaps the correct panel state was not loaded during the startup is my guess.

No, thing is it’s not reproducible on command, happens randomly due to some variable. Will fly again and pinpoint when it does.
