June 12, 20214 yr Commercial Member FS2Crew Weekend Update for June 12th, 2021. Well, good news, bad news! Which do you want first... 😉 Good News #1! Today we released Pushback Express V2.1 for MSFS. This is a very large and very significant update, and it's a free update for registered owners. The Change Log is way too large to re-post here, so please read the full Change Log via this link:   Good News #2! Pushback Express is on sale. 9 euros off. No coupon code required.  Good News #3! Remember last week I was talking about getting our own icon in the MSFS toolbar, and you were like "Why is this guy so excited about an icon..."  Well, we've made some very good progress. No promises, but it seems to be looking pretty good. We estimate we're about 3/4s way done. This is very complex stuff. You won't find it in any SDK.  Good News #4! Beta team is reporting no bugs on the "Button Control" side of FS2Crew for the FBW A32NX! Yeah! Remember way back in the olden days when FS2Crew was only "Button Control" and we didn't do voice control. Sometimes I wish we could return to those simpler days 😉 Button control is pretty good in the FBW... we can even read most of the FMAs and turn them into audio so when you arm approach you'll hear FMA callouts  like "Glideslope Blue, Loc Blue, CATIII Dual, Autopilot 1 plus 2".  Bad News #1... Voice control for the highly anticipated FBW A32NX version still needs some love. We need to polish the new Information Center more and fix a few niggles. The goal of the Information Center is to allow you to use the product without a manual. It's very complex and it tries to be "smart" as in predicting what you need to say and displaying it you so you can be an Airbus pilot without actually reading reading the FCOM for the FCTM for hours on end. That's easy with checklists. Not so easy with non-checklists. We're almost there... patience please 😉  We've got to get it right the first time!  Edited June 12, 20214 yr by byork B. June 12, 20214 yr Unfortunately, I bought Pushback Express from Aerosoft. No update, the wait goes on ...
June 12, 20214 yr Author Commercial Member Aerosoft is usually quick... They'll probably have it up by monday.   B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord Â
June 12, 20214 yr Great news! For the "Fs2CrewLaunchPanel" has been a great idea Bryan! I hope to be able to test its operation in the beta? Edited June 12, 20214 yr by Alaska738

We're hoping we can it working the way we want... it's looking good so far, but it doesn't work until it works 🙂 PBE and FBW will have this... again, it would just be a basic launcher. As I've mentioned, MSFS is very, very restrictive on what you can run "inside" of it.  There's no way in its current form you're ever going to ever get a multi threaded Speech recognition program that needs access to the Windows API and 3rd party audio programs running "inside" MSFS. MSFS is a very different animal from P3D/FSX. MSFS is amazing for sure... it's light years ahead of P3D/FSX visually, but for developers it's very, very limited regarding what can be run "inside" of it. For us, that's no big deal. We can live it. So we're cool with it 😉  Edited June 12, 20214 yr by byork B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord Â

June 12, 20214 yr Author Commercial Member Worst case scenario... people use the current system and manually start the exe. Via an XML file, you can actually setup programs in MSFS to autostart.  B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord Â
