June 18, 20214 yr I'm suffering a very basic problem with the Airbus. I need a quick tip. I can't get the Airbus to follow the flight plan. And I'm talking about both the default MSFS Airbus and the FlyByWire Airbus. So I know it's something I'm omitting, rather than a software bug. I can get the autopilot to work properly to control airspeed, vertical speed, and altitude. I am successfully loading the flight plan into the flight computer. It lists all the waypoints perfectly. But I can't get the plane to follow the path. I've noticed that the NAV button next to the Throttle Quadrant works differently on the FlyByWire as compared to the default Airbus. I am confused about how to get the plane to follow the flight plan. You will then see no heading indication on the glareshield and a small dot. You can do that on the ground before even starting the engines. Another reason could be a discontinuity (or whatever it is called on the bus) in the flight plan. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
June 18, 20214 yr Heading should display --- . and AP1 should be engaged (or AP2). Line on Nav display should be solid not dashed. FP in MCDU should be green, not orange (changes should be executed) If nothing else follow easyjetsimpilot on YT for one of his flights or anybody else who streams airbus flights.... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
