Check MSFS Current Update Status

Featured Replies

I sense I'm going to have one of those face palm moments when /if anyone answers this but, how do I know what status my MSFS is at?  When I first installed MSFS there seemed to be some advertising on the splash screen for World Update Update 4.  But I don't recall ever installing it? I see it is free on the MSFS market place as is the latest Nordic update.  I would like to download the Nordic update but something tells me I will need to ensure that World Update 4 is installed first?  So how do I know if it is installed (without going through the install process) ?

Note: I downloaded and installed MSFS from Steam. Also, in case it has any bearing on anything,  I have no community downloads and my community folder is empty.

Thanks guys.

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower!

Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-10700 CPU @2.90Ghz, 32GB RAM,  NVIDEA GeForce RTX 3060, 12GB VRAM, Samsung QN70A 4k 65inch TV with VRR 120Hz Free Sync (G-Sync Compatible).

Boeing Thrustmaster TCA Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, Turtle Beach Velocity One Rudder Pedals.

If you go to the marketplace and select "Bundles" it will show all of the World Updates (along with the Solo Ultralight - go figure)  and the ones you have installed will say " Installed " .

Thanks for the quick response guys.  So I went to the market place and found all the updates including Japan which I didn't know existed (the update that is). They all said 'New'.  And, I also saw the FlybyWire A320 so I downloaded that and and while it is still downloading,  it has already changed from 'New' to 'Owned'. So, it looks like I've got some further downloading to do.  Thanks again guys for steering me in the right direction 🙂  !!

PS:  I haven't finished downloading the FBW A320 yet but if is anything like it says it is, then at no cost,  it is a fantastic contribution to the flit sim community.  My thanks to all of those who have contributed to this wonderful gift. 👍👍

The scenery updates come each time  in two modules :

- a generic one that is compulsory to download, the sim does not give you the choice. It brings about the splash screens you saw

- and the regional update (Nordics being the last) which is optional which has to be found, acquired and downloaded from the ‘bundles ´ segment of the market place.

Now the fun part, there actually are three steps not two. Some sceneries patches  come in the Content Manager (cf USA PoI with the last WU).

Convoluted ? No, Microsoft 😄.

you will still have to look into content manager is all is updated, installed..unless you dont want it.

All good guys. Thanks for the advice.  Yeah, it doesn't seem too easy at times. I think the A320 had an installer and the download itself but it didn't say that. So I thought I had it all but didn't know why it hadn't installed?  So thought I'd try downloading it again and noticed a bigger file to download second time. Hmmm? After this second file downloaded the FBW A320 installed automatically.  So yeah, a bit confusing at times. 😕
