June 20, 20214 yr How would this computer run in MSFS 2020 or P3D v5 ASUS ROG Strix G35DX-DS73S Gaming Desktop PC, AMD Ryzen 7-3700X CPU, 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD + 512GB SSD, 8GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX2070 Super Graphics, Windows 10 Home Brand: ASUS Ron Service Ron Service .
June 20, 20214 yr I had a somewhat similar setup before except I had 32GB RAM. I was on a mix of high and ultra for MSFS. But I was flying GA which isn't as demanding as some the heavies. If I was flying those out of large busy airports I'd probably have had to dial it back more to high settings I think. I'd definitely recommend that you get 32GB RAM if you can for MSFS. Also if you have your OS + MSFS + P3D installed you might want to bump your SSD to 1TB if you manage that too.
June 23, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the reply. I too was thinking I should have 32 GB memory. My current PC has 24 GB and a 2TB HD which is running out of space. I may wait till the fall when chip supplies increase and there are better prices on new PC's Ron Ron Service .
June 24, 20214 yr It should perform pretty solid if you up the RAM to 32. Depends also on what resolution you want to run at. Mix of high and some Ultra for sure at 1080p. Maybe high with some medium and 1-2 Ultra that don't have a GPU impact if 1440p. My current 3700X, 32GB, 2080 Super runs 1440p Ultrawide with no issues and the lowest FPS I've seen is the DC-6 at Macco EGCC where I can hit just 30fps but that's a mix of high and ultra settings. It'll definitely be the 2070 holding you back in that system if you're running above 1080p.
