MSFS new update available

Featured Replies

Hi,

As I said yesterday, after the update I've got more fps. It was very intriguing. So I decided to look at the graphic settings in Flight Simulator. Then I realized that there was some changes! I didn't do any change myself! For instance, the Object Level of Detail was changed from 200 to 125 and the Shadow Maps and Terrain Shadows werre lowered also. I can't remember now all the changes.

I changed my graphics settings again as I had them before and the fps went back to 30.

What happened? Was the update responsible for the changes?

I do not rule out lowering the settings a little to return to 50 or 54 fps. No difference was noticeable apparently.

Do you have an Nvidia card? Geforce Experience may have changed your settings if you have auto optimize on.

This update didn't touch any files as far as I can tell that would have changed your graphics settings.

Hi,

Yes I have a Nvidia card. It is possible that Geforce Experience did that.

Anyway, I have decided to lower my settings. Now I have between 40 to 50 fps.

I'll check my Geforce Expereience settings.

Thank you!

Sorry if this is a stupid question im new to msfs.

I launched msfs went to marketplace

catalogue and I searched free and I wanted to update USA it says owned.updated

but then below says download don’t need to download it?

thanks

mike

Yes, even though they are free updates (that is why you 'own' them), it is optional to download them, they are not automatic.  If you want them, you must download and install them.

If there is a 'download' button, then it does normally mean you need to download and install it.

You can use a filter button to show updates and items not installed, and then take your pick.  Some items have been updated recently, including USA items, so even if you already have them, they will need to be updated.  I believe they improved some of the USA landmarks.  (hopefully Devil's Tower doesn't pop up at 100 metres now!) 😀

These updates can be quite big (gigabytes), so if you never fly in Japan, you don't have to download Japan or the additional airports, and it saves hard disk space (and possibly start-up time).

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
