June 26, 20214 yr Live weather for sure✔️. The Unreal Weather mod was necessary at launch because Live weather would show clear sunny skies when it was the exact opposite in real life. I used to used Unreal Weather as well. If you have been using it for a while turn it off and take a flight with Live Weather and see how much more immersive your experience will be. I think I understand more of what Asobo is trying to do with Live Weather and it really is the future. Having metar based reports which can be an Hour(s) old isnt realistic. Also its just a snapshot of that one station and for an entire sector to reflect the exact same weather is 2005 technology tbh..... Its so cool how I can clearly see it raining on one part of the airport while sitting at the gate at KDEN then start to taxi and its not raining near another part. Live Weather is just more dynamic and the world feels more alive. I still start with clear skies before switching to Live Weather. I dont think this is necessary anymore but I don't mind doing it. Also Unreal Weather doesn't use the weather engine to its fullest extent. I think at this point if you are still using it then you are doing yourself a disservice by not taking advantage of the live world MSFS offers. I mainly fly in the US and the weather depiction has been very good to what is being reported in real life. Edited June 26, 20214 yr by environmental_ice
June 26, 20214 yr For what it's worth: Here's a (weather) report of my recent flight from Samos (LGSM) to Reggio Calabria (LICR) showing that weather depiction in the sim can be very accurate, apart from the occasional lightning issue.
