Tales from the Blown Up PC..herky is dead

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

My new (MSFS) PC blew up recently...😒

Either MoBO or CPU or Cooling? Or all the lot. Catastrophic shut down, no Blue screen just wham! Thats yer lot, Im outta here! Im dead! Go back to warranty..LOL!

Scan dont know yet, whats gone wrong. They are rebuilding the thing in warranty (after 9 months of MSFS flying, from new, its blown up!)

So I dug out my old Win 7 PC from the cupboard. Its 7 years old. It had the old MCE in place, but i upgraded to the new version...FREE of Charge!

Guess what I found?

All the great sims that work with MCE to a professional flying level.😊

Non of which are present in MSFS.😞

Frankly until MSFS get their act together and have programs like;

Chase Plane (Video makers dream..I cant fathom the silly views in MSFS? sorry, rubbish!)

GSX2 (Best to see PAX boarding from the transparent jetway!! and they board any ANY aircraft!)

Active Sky (still the best weather program)

Flight 1 Real Traffic (still the best AI Traffic program)

MJCDash8 Q400 (Real world pilots use this to keep current)

QW 787(Real world pilots use this to keep current)

A2A Connie (the best 1950's sim..)  and more...

I will be staying with P3d and MCE.😜

Witness;-

Sorry? You lost me there. Can you be more specific in your comment? Are you referring to the F1 Garmin? If so, then of course, the Garmin's are another superb feature missing from MSFS.

The 530 in the A2A Comanche is a prime example!

Fully functional Garmins was my point.  In 2018 I advanced from the F1 GTN to the RXP GTN.  Either of those is well superior to what is mod'd in this latest sim. Admire the efforts of the mod squad.  The deficiencies are not on them.

Yes indeed, totally agree.

There is so much missing from Asobo's simulation. Once you get past the landscape graphics!

There is just the Aerosoft CRJ which is a faithful port from P3d. However, it does suffer from a poor ILS track ability and the FMC struggles to follow complex SID paths necessitating a manual departure.

As far as mods go, it's a Wild West show on flightsim.to. Without testing the compatibility of numerous mods, inevitably there are conflicting codes creeping in. Folks then wonder why they get lower frame rates and CTD's.

For now I don't have my Win10 new PC back from Scan. So I'm enjoying my old Win7 PC with P3d add ons all working splendidly with MCE!😁

Regards.

You can add to the missing list the Mjc Dash 8 Q-400.

Possibly the most accurate simulation of all time on any platform.

The only way Asobo would impress me now, is for the Mjc dash 8 to appear....

Oh did I forget?

GSX2..! Please Umberto!

other than that, Asobo is an Xbox game scenery simulator!

Well Im entitled to an opinion?

DCS has more appeal!

Whilst I'm in " let's take a critical look at progress" Mode...

You know Asobo has issues with ILS acquisition and they load pax and cargo when they should be unloading...

Well I recorded a clip from my ancient PC using MCE of course...ignore the jerky graphics (it's an old PC)...
