Question about arrival assigning

Featured Replies

Hello.

Small question about P2ATC assigning Approaches, STAR´s and arrival runways. I just made a flight from KMIA to KLAX. In KLAX P2ATC had 24R&L and 25R&L active, departures and arrivals were from those runways. P2ATC still assigned me to runway 07L, which was unactive ? It is user´s or mine fault, so I would like to know

what am I doing wrong on a flight planning ? Should the P2ATC assing runways automaticly, or should I check which runway is active and then set it up to flight plan ?

Cheers

It sounds like you had RWY 07L set up in your flight plan and may have had "Force Pilot Runway Selection" option checked in Config.  If you want P2A to set up the runways, then that option needs to be unchecked.

That said, the SIMs don't provide information to P2A about active runways, so P2A has to determine the active using things like winds, preferred Rwy settings in TaxiMnt, etc.  If you have "Match SIM Rwy" option checked, P2A attempts to determine what runway AI Traffic is using, but X-Plane does not provide that information.

So if you know in advance what the arrival runway should be, set it up in your plan and check the Force Pilot Runway Selection option so you will get your requested runway.

Thanks,

Dirk
