July 17, 20214 yr Hello. So my sim had a ctd twice today.Im thinking it could be memory issues, since I have a lot of chrome tabs open and that could be putting a strain on the RAM.I tried closing tabs but my sim crashed while i was taking off.Could there be any possible solutions to this?
July 17, 20214 yr I would empty your community folder and see if any add-ons are causing the CTD.... MSFS does not like overclocking. Two points to check on your end.... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.
July 17, 20214 yr Author everything is at stock, although i set my ram to 3200mhz with D.O.C.P.It was made to go at that speed so im not sure how it could be an issue.
July 17, 20214 yr hmmm, i overclock to the max on my CPU and GPU and i don't have any CTDs But yes, check your community folder if you have recently added any addons. And if you DO overclock, make sure your voltage (CPU and RAM) is enough for the stress test, but i do see that you DONT overclcok....so.... How much ram do you have? I would close out all programs running in the background.
July 17, 20214 yr Author i have 16gb of ram single channel, maybe if i doubled my ram to 32gb dual. My voltage is 1.350 volts or 1.35, which is within safe limits. I have 51 tabs of chrome running in the background as well.
July 17, 20214 yr well, that might be the issue, having 51 tabs open in chrome with FS2020 is running 16gb is ok, and most here will say you have enough, but that's not true with FS2020, the sim loves to have more ram to run efficiently. I have 48gb ram, started with 16, then added 32 for fs2020. But thats just my opinion and others will argue that it is unnecessary. RAM is not that expensive so, its a good experiment.
July 17, 20214 yr Also, uninstall any programs you dont need or have not used for a long time. Run CCleaner often to clear out any registry errors, chrome download and caches, cookies.... Use right click on your C drive and run the Disk Clean up occasionally to clear out stuff.
