Changing runway in MCDU while enroute issue

Featured Replies

I am using the stock A320 NEO in MSFS 2020. If I am enroute and change the runway at my destination, the autopilot begins a left or right 360 turn. Sometimes it heads back to the last waypoint and sometimes it completes the 360 degree turn and starts tracking properly to the next waypoint. What am I doing wrong. Thanks for the replies in advance.

You are not doing anything wrong. It's a bug in the flight planner subsystem. It is on Asobo's radar to be fixed, and is something that the Working Title group has fixed (I think) for the Garmin units and are working on getting it into the sim. The Fly By Wire team is working on implementing a new flight planning subsystem for the A320 itself.

Workarounds at this time are to use selected HDG mode to fly to the next waypoint, or to use Direct To the next waypoint.

Good to hear. Was thinking about downloading the Fly By Wire A320, but if it has the same problem, I'll wait. Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know if the Fly by Wire Mod will give me the same issue, or is there another version that is known to work properly

as I mentioned above the fly by wire team is working on it. I highly recommend getting the fly by wire mod as they have already fixed a lot of things including the autopilot system. Best bet is to get the fly by wire installer and use the development version. That is where most of the newest stuff will be and it is updated almost every day. They have very good quality control I have not seen any update cause any issues. The other nice thing about the installer is that when doing an update it only updates the files that have actually changed, it does not download the entire thing every time.
